  1. Peter, First, welcome aboard! You've done all modellers a great service pointing out the flaws in this kit, and you have shown that they can be overcome. I'm looking forward to seeing this model completed, you've done some really nice work on it so far! Brian
  2. Nice build!!
  3. Great looking Lambo, Leon - Glad to see ya here!
  4. Oh yeah - that's nice too.... love the paintwork!
  5. Wide whites and fuzzy dice - I love it!
  6. Wow! That's cool!!
  7. Ya done good Billy!! Though I prefered the regulat gold for mine, the gold chrome on yours really pops from under the decals - looks nice!
  8. Chevy put the SS badges on everything, as it was mostly a trim/appearance package more than a performance package. A 327 Malibu SS with bucket seats is a whole lot more common than the 396ci Z-16 Chevelle. "Mainstreamer" refers to a more common variant of a particular car, rather than the most exotic - in this case, Malibu SS vs Z-16. In the end, all I wanted to do was build a model for my dad
  9. Nice build...very clean!
  10. Wow, Every update of this build has been jaw-dropping! Very nice work!
  11. Thanx guys!! Like I said, It was for my dad, I guess I was inspired...
  12. That was done by John Frankenhiemer(sp?), same cat that did "Gran Prix"... the chase scene through the tunnels was just wild!!
  13. If Tuffy can torment ya with a T-Bolt build, so can I....
  14. Highwaymen - I've seen that flick, surprised anyone else has...
  15. I see a cool little Ford Pheaton.....guess it worked
  16. Then they'll hate me for this.... I bashed mine into a 327ci Malibu SS by cutting up two Z-16 tail light panels to make a correct Chevelle/Malibu panel, cut the back of the car out to fit it, added a parts box small block, and AMT '66 Nova SS wheels. This is a pretty close replica of my Dad's first brand new car, which he had when he and Mom got married. I gave it to him for Christmas a few years back, which makes this build even cooler.
  17. I hit three boards on a regular basis: here, "there", and Randy's NASCAR board. I lurk on a couple others. I scan "there" looking for cool builds and related posts, but up untill Tom started displaying I.P. adresses, the BS was getting to be a bit much. Nothing to do with thin-skin, as I had no one attack me personally, but seeing ppl get jumped on for buying a kit at wallymart, personal attacks for discussing flaws, errors and other problems with kits, was just getting old. It's good that there are now steps being taken to weed out the bad, but for some, it is too little, too late. Brian
  18. Yeah Dan.... enlighten us on your T-Bolt....
  19. I like it!! Nice to see these kits being built...
  20. Aww c'mon Gregg.....do ya have to allow anyone in here?? Here's a word that you should get used to: BIOP.... Just messin' with ya Dan - welcome aboard!! Now, when ya gonna finish that Thunderbolt?? Brian
  21. Welcome aboard!! Yeah, I dig the Stang too!
  22. I've been "hit or miss" with Alclad II... I did the wheels and a couple other parts on this '32 Coupe, and they came out pretty nice.....and the look as good as they did when I built it 5-6 years ago. I've done other parts that looked like ######, guess I just need to play with the stuff a bit more. At any rate, it has it's uses, and it does open up some possibilities. Grab a bottle and experiment with it... Brian
