  1. I know Bob - just messin with ya What frustrates me about the "$11 Cobra Daytona coupe by Revell" is that alot of the pieces are sorta there already. They have a "leaf spring" chassis in the 1:43 "Ultimates" Cobra, they had to make pattern models for the 1:32 Daytona slotcar body, they have a good example of how to tool a Cobra in their 427 roadster kits (and a good example of how not to tool one in the AMT 289 kit), and they have a history of producing Shelby/Ford licenced kits. Such a kit won't set the world on fire in the initial release, but like the 427 kits, it could be re-issued every few years with different decals, it could spawn a 289 roadster kit, and could be paired with other Shelby kits as a combo pack release. Oh well, I'll keep waiting for the Acc Mins roadster, and hope that it spawns a Daytona Coupe...
  2. Well, that body (the white one) was robbed to replace one on another build that I thoroughly screwed up...LOL!! Brian
  3. Lookin' good Billy!! I built that one back in the day, but I didn't care for the plated body, so I stripped it (is nothing sacred??).... Brian
  4. I haven't built Tamiya's 360 Spyder, but I have built the coupe. Aside from using Bob's side window fix, it was as close to a "shake-n-bake" kit as you'll get.... toss paint and glue in the box, shake, and out comes a Ferrari Brian
  5. Hey!! I resemble that comment! Seriously, I hope the upcoming Accurate Miniatures 289 roadster kits are successful enough for them to do a Daytona Coupe kit....
  6. Never built a TD kit, but I like your build... The aluminum tube on the pipes is a nice touch, looks great!
  7. hey Len! I remember seeing that car posted "over there" - nice work!
  8. Dang Lyle, that thing is killer!! Nice touch on the wheels, really wets em off well!
  9. You certainly are "the corvette guy", Izzy - very nice work!
  10. Always dig seeing your work, Irv!!
  11. Nice work - cool color, and great wheel choice!
  12. Wow....that is just beautiful!!! I've built Italeri's 250 GTO, but I'd be embarassed to show it after seeing you 250 SWB.... Great work Bill, thanx for sharing it!! Brian
  13. Welcome, Stefan! Bill, you MUST spill the details on that 250 SWB GT!!
  14. thanx Bill! I prefer the clean looks of the '55 over the '56, just don't care for the spare tire, I guess  Brian
  15. Sweet 'Bird Bill!! Can ya tell us more about the '55 conversion??
  16. Now that's cool - nice work John!
  17. Strange, unusual, not normal....... I love it!! keep posting pics as this build progresses! Brian
  18. I sure am diggin' this one!
  19. Nice save - great to see it saved from the trash heap!
  20. Oh man, that is freakin' cool!!
  21. very nice build, Bob - looks great!
  22. That's gonna be sweet!
  23. I built this one a few years ago. The decals for the center stripe absolutely would not conform to the body, so I painted it instead. I don't know if I made a mistake, but the tie-rod was too long to fit, so I left it out. The kit is "fiddly", but I won't call it "junk"....far from it. It's a cool kit of a unique subject, and with some patience, will build into a nice replica. Ya know, I might just have to get another one Brian
  24. Accurate Miniature's upcoming (I sure hope) FIA/USRRC 289 roadster should be a real gem of a kit, if what I was told via email by Bob Johnson/Accurate Miniatures sometime last year comes true. I can only hope that these upcoming kits lay the groundwork for a Daytona Coupe, I could then die a happy modeller :-) Brian
