  1. Get a big pot of water, enough to submerge the body, and heat it to around 170-180° (do not boil). Have another pot of cool tap water ready. Dunk the body in theh ot water for a few seconds (use tongs!), remove, give a twist in the oposite direction past where you want it, then dunk in cool water. repeat as needed. Don't leave it in the hot water very long, or the plastic will shrink. I can't count how many Monogram NASCAR T-birds I've fixed this way, adn the ones still on my shelf are still straight going on 7-8 years later. Brian
  2. Lookin good! I built the Mac Tools/Planters Buick/Lola right after I got back in the hobby. Thinking about grabbing a couple of these kits and taking another shot at it.
  3. Nice build!
  4. Haven't seen or heard of one, but the "square" body trucks shouldn't be *too* difficult to build from sheet plastic, and you can find both 3/4 ton and 1 ton running gear in the Monogram F-250 and F-350 dually kits. The newer rounded nose UPS trucks would be a challenge though... Brian
  5. My favorite driver! Wish I had gotten one of the tins, be sure to post the finished model.. Brian
  6. Yeah - what Jarius said!
  7. Lookin' good! Now get some wheels on it!
  8. All of em have nice paintwork!!
  9. Tamiya TS-26 pure white in a very "white" paint, and I'm pretty sure TS-13 clear doesn't yellow. You'll want to have good lighting when ya spray the white and the clear, it's easy to miss "dry" spots in the paint. Also, if you have access to it, two part urethane clears won't yellow either. Brian
  10. Never tried brake cleaner, but I have used Castrol Super Clean with great success, and have used brake fluid and easy-off oven cleaner. Whatever method you choose, please be smart about it. The Super Clean and Easy off will leave a nasty, slimey feeling on the tips of your fingers...that slimey feeling IS the tips of your fingers!! Wear gloves, use in a well ventilated area, and wear eye protection. Using your paint respirator (you do use a respirator when painting, right?) is also advised. Brian
  11. Great tip!
  12. Got any more pics of it?
  13. If it's anything like your black '40, it's gonna be sweet!
  14. The Stang and the '40 are my favs!
  15. Mark, You, Bill Geary and Jim Drew are pushing the limits of model car building, and it's great to see you share these projects as you go. Fine work, as always!
  16. It's going to be this car, chassis #1038 driven by Jacky Ickx/Peter Shetty, untill Ickx had an "off", killing a corner marshal and destroying the car. The decals are pretty complete, only lacking Firestone decals for the tires.
