  1. Ok, the update on this is....there isn't one. Since I do all my airbrushing outside; my work is very dependent on the weather. Today it's quite windy and we're expecting thunderstorms later this afternoon. My goal though (weather permitting) is to paint the stripes and add some ghost flames behind the front wheel wells.
  2. Oohh I got ya! The kit carbs look pretty detailed... just not in chrome. Looks like they might work with aluminum and copper paints. What other carbs do you have? or...are there too many to post? lol
  3. LMAO! I just ordered my carpet yesterday. Hope it gets here soon.
  4. So I got some work done on funky body panels and lines. I have a little more work to do on the right side of the car, but I think the left is all done except for adding the new lines. It looks like I've got some good spacing between the hood and the rest of the body. I'll wait till the putty dries then try to work it a little more.
  5. I would just use those carbs. Not like anyone is going to see them under that big air cleaner.
  6. Lookin' good Bryan. Hurry up and get back to work =p
  7. Lookin' good! Keep goin
  8. Nick's gonna be a happy camper. Good job on this build thus far!
  9. That's what every modeler needs! BEER!
  10. oohhh, thanks for telling me. I'll get all this modeling lingo down eventually. =p
  11. I'll be honest. I don't really know what a "pro-street" is, but I know this model will not be a race car as the kit intended. I envision it to be a custom Sunday cruiser type of look.
  12. I use a fine horsehair brush. Plastic (or other synthetic) bristles will leave streaks like crazy.
  13. LOL I've got so many ideas poppin' in my head. This will be rough, but fun.
  14. Brandon, thank you for the kind words. The silver is just Testors silver enamel. I brushed it over the chrome to give it a little extra shine. =) I just use nail polish on the bodies.
  15. Nice work so far. It's really coming together. To answer your question, I'm guessing putty and sandpaper will fix the mold imperfections next to the headlights.
  16. Thanks Steve, I think I'm going to need it. I'm going to the hobby shop today on my way to work to get some supplies. Hopefully this weekend, I'll be able to do something on this.
  17. Thanks Bill. No matter what I do to it will be anything next to your recent masterpiece, but I do look forward to trying to tackle it.
  18. I'm thinking this should be the correct thickness. Actual Outer Diameter: .010" (0.3mm) http://www.hobbylinc.com/htm/pls/pls90850.htm
  19. While I'm waiting to put the final touches on my Shelby GT350, I've decided to tackle this beast. I've been warned that this body is garbage and simply doesn't line up...those people were correct. However, I'm going to try and tackle it to see what I can come up with. Funds are a little short these days due to temps getting cooler here and kids needing winter clothes, so this will probably take me a while. Suggestions and comments are always welcome. Started off sanding down the body lines that don't exist on the real '57 vette as well as the flashing and mold lines. After taping the body together and started looking at the body lines...they don't match. I'm thinking of grinding the lines down and getting styrene rods or strips to re-make them in the correct place. Thanks for looking. As always, comments are welcome.
  20. If the rad is an issue, here's a suggestion: You already borrowed the skis from a snowmobile...why not borrow the heat exchanger from it and put it under the chassis? If the snowmobiles heat exchanger isn't available, then mod the rad and put that under the chassis.
  21. The engine looks perfectly comfy in that body.
