  1. Welcome to the forum Charlie..!
  2. Sounds like that to me also. And yes I agree it's the best and most realistic looking way to do chrome trim. You don't want to try to lessen the tack on the foil.. On long lines lay the blade down a little.... don't try to cut with the tip. and as tbill said the weight of the knife is enough to cut the foil. Think draw not cut, don't press. It was also said to get a scrap body and practice.... then you will get the feel for BMF better, and you won't risk the learning process as much on your project. Practice... practice... practice..!! Good luck...!
  3. Always collecting kits and parts for planned builds... Haven't finished but only 3 in the last 7 years or so. But have several stalled builds going, and a few mockups done in the middle of builds. But that is how I enjoy this hobby. And that is just what it is, something you enjoy doing! So just build how it makes you happy! One at a time or several going at the same time.... Its yours to find what fits your style. and I agree with bbowser.....always something to work on
  4. I was lucky enough to see the original Halicki film at a sneak preview at midnight for free at a movie theater in Canton Ohio..! By FAR one of the best car movies ever made..! Cage movie was a Hollywood remake...and good in it's own rights. But it CAN'T touch a movie mad by a man who loved cars and had the means and friends to make it a legendary reality..!! In the same boat as you Draggon..!

  17. I build in the basement and the kitchen table... I have an old 6 foot stainless steel butcher block table with two 10 inch shelves over the table, from a restaurant. And an old drawing table next to it. I have a 4 foot florescent light fixture over the bench and 2 swing arm lamps that can be positioned over my work area. I built a table to hold my spray booth and have some work area on that also, with a 1 foot florescent light inside the booth and a swing arm lamp on that table as well. ( I need alot of light to see properly ) All rattle can spray painting and airbrushing are done in the basement. I keep my project on a large cutting board so I can bring it up stairs to work at kitchen table. Where I have an antique swing arm magnifying light also.. Recently separated in October from my wife, allows me the luxury of building or having model cars where ever I choose. ( And my cat Ert don't care ) Plus one 11 x 11 bedroom is my display room, where I do photography of my models on top of my display case.
