Hopefully for a future permanent layout. I have a very small setup I can set the buildings next to and run my trains by. The layout I presently have is the Kato Tri-R Railroad. A very small figure 8 type layout, that's a loop within a loop. With one siding. Really too small for all of the buildings I've been adding lately. But someday I hope to do something larger where I can use all of my buildings. The building I really want buy, but have no place for with my present or future setups at home, is Walthers Cornerstone Union Depot. One thought I have. is buying and building one, and seeing if anybody in a local N scale club would like to use it for free. Hopefully in one of those track modules you see at train shows. I personally have no interest in building a module myself. The one, I don't have time. Second, the local N scale train club meets on the second Wednesday of each month. The same evening as our model car club. As much as I love trains. I love my model cars even more. And heck, I even like the guys somewhat who are in our local club.

Collectible Automobile Magazine
unclescott58 replied to Tom Geiger's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Ditto. Still my favorite magazine, car or otherwise. -
Here are two more Walthers Cornerstone N scale buildings I've finished recently. One is Al's Victory Service. With the extra decals from the kit, I chose to build it as "North Shore Gas" instead of Al's. This is a very nice kit, with several other options. Other than the decals I chose to use. There are three different styles of gas pumps. Basically 40's with the globes. 50's without the globes. And 60's squared off style. The globes were the only way for me. The second kit is their Two-Story Frame House. I needed it to go along with their American Bungalow kit I built a few weeks back. This kit too has a few options to make it different from what you see. It comes with a second porch roof style, and couple different doors for the front and rear doors. Why yellow? I just liked the color. I think it looks good.

Just ordered one of these kits on eBay. I'm thinking, when it comes, of painting it a nice light blue with a dark blue interior and top.

1936/37 Packard 12 Sportster

Just bought an Entex Coupe Roadster on eBay. Looking forward to getting it. In my opinion, this was when Packard was at its peak. Both in styling and engineering. -

I don't think there was an ugly Thunderbird made in the 1960's. I wish I had an AMT kit for every year they made one. I'm surprised how much I like the looks of the car with the headlamp covers, as shown in the art work above. The color really pops too.

AMT 1964 Lincoln Convertible Annual
unclescott58 replied to RDean58's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
Some interesting accessories with this one. Shortwave radio, bug screen, water bag, a rear tonneau with windshield. Plus more. I am curious about why the air conditioner scoops for the rear fenders? Those were only needed if you had trunk mounted air conditioner. Which then required interior car air vents coming out of the rear package shelf. This type of air conditioner was not seen much after the late 1950's when in dash and under dash units became practical and available. And very rarely in convertibles before that. Plus the kit also includes an under dash air conditioning unit. So I wonder what the thinking was, with including those rear air conditioner vents? -
Autoworld.com Free Car kit!!!!!

Boy, if one didn't move fast. Your out of luck! 5 1/2 hours after the email was sent, the kit I wanted is gone. I've got to say, I'm a little disappointed. Luckily I have the kits I really wanted from that selection already. I've thought about the Tiger Shark several times. For $10.00 I would have grabbed one. -
Snake your last posting, again hit me right. Being in the field of education, the homeschooling comments made me laugh the most. I'm really hoping parents that are now getting a good taste of what it's like for us to try and educate some of their kids. Don't get be wrong, I love working with all kids. But, it would be a lot easier if we could get more support from the parents. I really hate the attitude that, "my little Jimmy or Susie wouldn't do that." And "why aren't "you" teach them?" Ha! Now maybe they'll know.

Amazing. Well beyond my model building abilities. Still, I'm impressed. .

Wow! Not a lot of difference from the '65. Which I knew and expected. But I get a kick they are now claiming Barris designed the custom version. Where the almost exact custom version from the year before was claimed to be designed by the Alexander brothers. Which is it? And what is a differences are there between the the '65 and '66 customs? I only thing I see are the custom taillights and taillight surrounds being different.

I like the custom rear window, with the Thunderbird emblem. Cool! Something as a kid I would have had to use.

I did get the Model Power N scale Farm House in today's mail to go along with the barn and chicken coop. A couple of hours later, it was all put together. And like the other kit, it goes together extremely well. It is molded in 4 colors. So again, I felt it need no paint. No working feature like the barn. But, that's okay. It comes with a nice little outhouse. Naturally with a moon on the door. I also like that it's got a trellis with a bush in front of it. A nice little touch. I'm surprised, I don't remember seeing something like this a front real outhouses. A nice flowering bush would not only hind the building, but hopefully help with the odors.

It looks photoshopped to me too. At least I hope it is. No one of male persuasion has a right to call him self a man driving a truck with those on them.

Yea, the site you provided a link to on the Aurora Postage Stamp Trains is great. I've had a lot of fun on that site. Plus I found it useful in construction of this kit. The instructions that came with the Model Power kit are exactly the same as those used with the Aurora kit. But, they were printed so dark, they where practically useless. So I used the old Aurora instructions on the web site to help with this build. I wonder if I'll have to do the same with the farm house, that should be coming in today's main?

Great looking Chargers. I've always like MPC's '67. It's a nice kit. And it really stands out using those decals with that color.

No offense meant personality to you. But, if anybody sees me putting teddy bears wheels on any vehicle, scale model or real. Please shot me. Put me out of my misery. Senility will have set in... Okay, now that that little rant is over with. I've never in real life seen teddy bear wheels on anything. Scale or full size. They don't make these for real, full size vehicles, do they?

If you read my first post here, you'd see they go back farther than the early 70's. The first date I can for sure find for this kit is 1968, when it appeared in Aurora's Postage Stamp Trains catalog. And as noted, the Postage Stamp Train building kits were molded for Aurora by Faller of Germany. Did Faller offer this kit before 1968? It is based on an American style barn. So was it originally done by Faller on Aurora's request? Or did they do it to go after the American market themselves?

Okay thanks Jim. You just got me to spend a little over $150 on 1/43 scale diecast. Searching on line, three versions came up being available. The blue two-door you show above. A four-door in purple/mauve (?) color with a black vinyl roof. And a Champagne Gold four-door with no vinyl roof. Even though I love anything blue. I saw the two-door came with a brown/tan interior which I'm to keen in combination with the blue. So the gold four-door with a gold/tan interior won out. Now, the only thing I'm worried about is how well those bumpers fit. In the pictures I could see of the gold cars, the bumper fit does not look good. But, on the other two it looks okay. So, I'm hoping the picture the vendors are using are of the same car. And only that one has the bumper problems. And that the ones they sell are better. Or easily fixed.
