  1. Thats why i ask. Now the question is what would be close enough in six cylinder engines to duplicate the integral head which had exhaust and intake on same side same as the standard six. What made them different was the intake was cast into the head with only the exhuast removable. Also had a different valve cover design as well.
  2. Actually i should have clarified. The chassis is the 1/24 scale bee chassis. I modified the wheel housings, moved the springs inboard and shortened the differential slightly for clearance. I am using the amt wide tires that were in their charger and other kits.

  13. Finally dug this one out. Going to finish this one. I started it 18 years ago when my youngest was born. The chassis is the prostreet chassis from the coronet mated to the factory front suspension. The engine is the 429 boss from amts m ustang. I had to custom make the headers from solder since nothing else would fit. Now have the decals from keith marks and the new revell kit to finish it. The paint will be testors ultraviolet purple with silver accents. The car is going to have a opening trunk to go with its opening doors. Welcome to ideas. Thanks for looking. Hopefully the pictures will stay this time.
  14. I reedited the post with the picture hopefully it will stay now.
  15. I found a neat tool by accident. Bought a nail grooming tool at my local pet store for my dog but still can't get near her with it. Upon closer examination its just a battery powered dremel with a screw on guard with four holes. It has two speeds, low and high. It uses the same attachments as a dremel so i decided to use it in my hobby area since i can not use it on the dog. Its made by oster and cost $25.99. Nice thing is its small compact and cordless. When not in use it can be stood on end. Just thought i would share.

  18. Finally getting time on the work bench. This is my prostreet bee. I plan on d ping several different styles as I really like the 69. This one is going to be go mango orange. With a black interior. Got the interior soaking tonite so i can paint it sunday. Got the engine and chassis done this week. The body is now painted and cleared just waiting to polish the body. More updates later. Heres the body.
  19. Got a little more done on my car today. Got some primer and the first color coats on body. The color is duplicolor chrysler radiant orange. I will put on black stripes n ot sure if I'll duplicate the 70 style transam stripes or the 69 stripes. I decided to go with the pontiac 421 engine from a revell parts pack I bought on line. More later.
  20. So is the issues with the dragster on it the november or december? Whats on the cover of the december and february issues? So i dont duplicate purchases.
  21. On a tutorial on restoring glue bombs that sounds like a great idea. I'll start one after the first of the year on one i planned to do. I enjoy doing them as much as doing kits. I think the real enjoyment is taking a hunk of plastic and making something nice out of it.
  22. I built the racecars before i read your advice on the netting. I promptly appropriated some from our remodel of our kids room to a hobbyroom. I just slid the entire chassis rollcage assembly from the firebird into the camaro without modification. Thanks for your ideas.
  23. This is a project i built out of spare kits and decals i had in the parts box. The body i modified with shelby pieces to look like a roadcourse car. The wheels are my first attempt at alclad. The interior is finished with aluminum from pop cans to eliminate the rear seat and door panels. The rest of the interior is modified from a amt torino kit. Roll cage and seat. The engine compartment is fully wired and detailed. The grill is photo etched mesh and the hood pins are aftermarket detailmaster. The body is pewter with hand masked ultraviolet purple. I like building models from the parts box sometimes. This was a fun build as well.
  24. This is the twin to my coronet. T he body is a johan body, the interior is a mix of aftermarket resin and kit pieces. The hood is a aftermarket resin piece. The chassis, the engine and engine compartment are amt. The paint is testors emerald green. The decals are a assortment of aftermarket ones. I found that with a little trimming and by modifying the johan kit glass the amt interior and chassis fit like it was made for the johan body. The chrome was typical for johan of that vintage, with a little research i found the modelhaus 69 roadrunner pieces are repops of the johan chrome. So i replaced the grill and bumpers with those pieces. All in all was a fun project.
  25. Juat to show i like mopars. Here is a picture of my rendition of revells 69 superbee. I fixed all the issues with the kit to make it as accurate as possible. The paint is testors emerald green which is as close as i could get to the proper color. The wheels are from the 68 charger and the tires are satco redlines. This ki t was fun to do and has rewarded me with many awards at shows. Sorry for the quality of pictures. Have to use my phone at moment.
