I use 5-minute epoxy
You can use CA on clear styrene if you don't go overboard with it and can blow the vapors away while it cures. Headlight lenses or anything enclosed obviously won't work

I put on just enough that I can wetsand it flat and smooth without sanding through it. That avoids the syrupy look, and makes the paint look more "scale".
Went to my LHS today and they had one can on the rack at $8.20, making it the most expensive of any of the TS line.
Well at least it's back, it is the best clear I've ever used.
