Thoughts and prayers Mark. Sorry for your loss!!
-
Thanks guys, I like how the roof line matches with the lower body line and the rear side window matches the upper body line. It just flows together. As of right now, the front end has been cut to take the stock 59 Caddy front end (Bumper/grille/lights). The rear valance has been cut out for the same stock treatment back in. It has been recessed into the body and the rear bumper may get sectioned to make it thinner or I may rip the bumper off to add a valence back into it. Photos coming soon..... You're welcome, can't wait to see what you do on yours!!!

Sounds like a kool idea. Part numbers for both of these cars are below. Hope it helps........ NB216 59 Cadicious custom NB199 57 Chrysler 300 custom

Thanks guys, Marshall, I'm using Jimmy Flintstones Cadicious body and Chrysler 300 wagon body. I can get you part numbers if you wish. I also have a rag top version getting started too.

I saw Ted Lears Caddy and thought "That would make a killer wagon" so here it is. I am planning on putting the stock front end on it and part of the rear bumper. I'm using the roof from my custom Chrysler 300 wagon. More to come as it happens.....

New kit from Speedway Motors

Sign me up, that'd look good under my Model A... -
Sounds good to me, sorry if I offended earlier.
-
Amen!!!!!!!

Not a bad idea, make it simpler in terms so people can follow it better. Q and A could be a bit much for some even though it's spelled out.
-
Agreed.

I know it can get frustrated and I don't blame ya for getting peaved, I just read the the way you put it and said it and it to me just didn't reflect to well on you or the forum. I don't know the answer of what to do or how to do it. I know you have the forum laid out to where it's easy to understand. I know I'm guilty of going into a thread and getting wrapped up in how cool a build is and not reading "Every" line in the entire thread. I just want to look at the car being built. So I can understand where someone may not read every detail and that falls on them. I know you have a points system for people doing the not so right things, maybe adapt that to this as well. If they can't follow the directions make them accountable somehow. That may not be the answer, just an idea. Like I said I don't have the answer but trying to keep everyone happy is not an easy deal. I know what it's like in some ways, having been a president of a model club for quite a few years.

That's why for a LONG time I left Spotlight Hobbies board, being told my stuff "didn't belong on their board" and being talked to as I was an outsider, even getting snide remarked emails in my email box, finally just figured screw it I'm done. Now all you see on that board is stuff like I build so maybe someone can figure that out...........

Amen, I didn't want to poke my nose into this but you're right Tom. And Harry I'm sorry if I say this and step on your toes by doing so, but for an administer of a strong model car site and magazine such as this. Coming onto the forum and spouting off like you did just makes the magazine, the name and this site look like a crying brawl on a school yard. If you are tired of moving posts everyday there are nicer more grown up approaches to getting the task done. As Tom pointed out the perverbial P#@&*ing off the customers is why I don't frequent as many model forums. I got tired of hearing and seeing the bickering going on between everyone and said enough is enough. I know you try your damdest to make this what it is but you need to rethink how you go about it, because if the opening comment was leaning towards me entering in the wrong place, I wouldn't appreciate it!!! Again sorry if I stepped on anyones toes by saying this, but we are grown ups!!!!

Joker, love the flys!!!!! My grand father used to do that and I still have quite a few of them. Tom, love the furniture, you've got some awesome stuff there!!!! Kool stuff everyone, thanks for sharing!!!!!!

I hear ya Helix, my little 6 year old girl is the center of my life. People ask me from time to time who my hero is, I simply say "My daughter". HAving had 10 surgeries and about one more to go for now she is the most independant, caring, beautiful, fun, polite and down to earth girl I know. And she's only 6!!!!!! God bless our children!!!!!!

I've seen Miloden style covers like that years ago. Not sure what kits they came in.

To me it depends on the subject I'm working with. If I'm building a period correct 40's or 50's kustom or hot rod I'll look into some research. If it's a wild one off kustom that rolls out of my head it's totally by the seat of my pants. Not sure how much of my stuff you've seen (Photobucket site in the link below) but a good majority of it has very little reasearch into them. I got out of the main stream "contest building" years ago and now build for the likes of me. If others like it KOOL, if not I'm not offended in the least... Some cars, like I'm building Eleanor, the car from Gone in 60 Seconds with Nicholas Cage. I did pull quite a bit off line so I can get it as close to right as possible. Like others have said it's all up to the builder/build as to how much you truly want to put into a project.
