Outragis wanted me to do a Nova funny car body for him. I said no problem, well upon getting into it I wanted one. So here's mine and he just got his in the mail today.... I still have to get inner tins and side glass in it!!!!!
Thanks guys, got some photos taken today mocked up with wheels and the engine. I'll put them on in a couple hours.....
Mike, it's Jimmy Flintstones body based off of the Rat Packer kit...
I've used a piece of tempered glass with balsa wood or plastic shims under it. Right now it's under a 39 Ford kustom that I'm doing...
It all depends on how hi tech or low tech you want to go. Kennb's jig is awesome!!!!! That would offer a wide array of builds on it.
I'll post some more in a few days or so. Gotta get more work done on it. Still mocking up the engine bay area and suspension right now. I'm having to narrow the entire suspension to fit the Nova body. I'm having to relocate a-arms and all that good stuff.
It is a bit Ray. To get the body lines to line up and not have the bed area sit outside of the body. This way it looks right for the backhalf. It doesn't look to bad from the profile shot. I wanted to build it to where the end user can use the windshield from the Bel Aire kit without having to cut a shield to make it fit. If this was to remain mine and only mine I would of chopped the frame and cut the glass. But it is going to resin so I didn't want to make it a nightmare for who ever purchases it.
Thanks guys....
Eric, the roof lines from the Pontiac Catalina and the Bel Aire are pretty much dead on. The windshield fits perfectly.
This body will more than likely be going to resin as well.
Something I've been working on for awhile now. I am using a Corvette chassis underneath. It will use the driveline from the Vette but with a vintage look to the induction. I am putting on the older style Inderle Injectors (8 injectors) on top of the Vette engine. I'm thinking of going with an eye catching orange color over a gold base to get the color to pop.
I always thought of doing the Mork and Mindy showrod and have the shell of the car mocked up.
