  1. I'm glad I'm not a wagering person as I thought that the Bronco's would win. Had I bet I would have lost my ..............shirt. They didn't even show up which is the disappointing part.

What's this about baseball? This is HOCKEY season!!!

The US team is doing really well in the Olympics, they have a good chance to medal. Then it will be back to the regular season and the Stanley Cup Playoffs, the toughest trophy to win in sports.

  2. I am surprised that sellers still use a Reserve with the classic "Reserve Not Met". As a seller you can start your auction at any price you want. (It used to be the start prices were tiered with different costs. Now they take a percentage of the final price including shipping).

As mentioned, you can ask the seller his reserve, some tell you, some don't.

I generally pass on Reserve auctions.

  3. Ok,

I am now tired of the Snow and cold. It's been below freezing at least 25 days out of the last 30. At least half of these days were in the teens or below. Just about the time I can clear my sidewalk etc it Snows again. It is Snowing now, on top of what I cleared from Saturday nights Snow.

ARRRRRRRGH. Will it ever stop and get somewhat warm?????????????

  4. I've made water-slide decals with an ink jet but you need to clear coat them before you put them in water. I thought about getting a laser printer but from what I found they do not print small decals that well (speaking in terms of focus/print-ability to a small size). IMO neither one is exceptional for good decals.

An Alps was on my list but now I have second thoughts. I believe Alps is out of business and it is getting more difficult to find parts etc for them.

If you only need a set or two of decals it would probably be better to contact someone (you could try this forum first) who has an Alps and can make them. If you plan to do a lot look into an Alps (or similar?) printer.

I am at a loss for an answer on the photo-etch part with either printer.

  5. Hey Rich,

The sniper thing only works if my max bid is higher than the max bid put on an item by someone else. It makes it so I don't have to be watching the item when it's ending and trying to put in a last second bid. I use it so as not to get into a bidding war too.

A lot of times I get an email that the bids have gone above my max. That is when I have to decide if I want to up my max bid. Usually I do not. As you said, there will be another one down the road.

  6. Here is what I do if I am looking for something in particular:

1). In my eBay I put whatever it is I am looking for under "Searches You Follow". Make sure you have it set to "Receive Email Notification" when an item matching your search is listed. You are emailed all new matching items. You may also get unrelated stuff occasionally if part of your description is in that listing's heading.

2). I use a free "sniper" service to bid for me just before the auction ends. That way you do NOT have to be sitting at your computer when it is ending. I put in the highest amount I am willing to spend. You win some and you lose some but, to me, it is the way to go. Just Google "eBay Sniper" and you should get quite a few FREE ones to choose from.

I just hope that by suggesting this no one here wants what I am looking for Point.gif.

  7. If I had a stack of money I didn't need this isn't something I would bid on, except, if it was for a charity I really believed in and wanted to support.

I really like the purple parts, wish I could duplicate that with an airbrush and paint.

I doubt this is a medium I will ever model build in.emot15.gif

It does make you wonder why they couldn't have hammered a blower belt out of gold?

  8. This is a cool looking tractor. I'm sure you would be the envy of the neighborhood.

I'd suggest some sort of cylinder head bracing as these motors have a tendency to shake because of the uneven combustion sequence they have. You could incorporate a brace for the battery and oil tank at the same time.

If this was/is on your list of things to do, my bad.

    BTW, Orange and black?

  9. I've done some woodwork and I've made a couple guitars. I never tried to paint one to let the grain show. What you may want to look into is a dye stain. It comes in a variety of colors. You would need to seal then clear-coat. You may also be able to apply a sealer first then add the dye to the top coat. If you apply the sealer before the dye it should not soak into the wood.

  10. Hey Sean,

I use "Picture It" that was pre-installed on my computer to shrink or enlarge pics. It is a good ballpark to start with. I've never tried to do that from the printer itself. I then print it out to get the true size. You can make multiple attempts on the same piece of paper if the subject matter is smallish.

I'd suggest to also consider what else may be important to you. When I was shopping for a printer I had a list of what was important to me. One was being able to print on all sizes of paper. The one I got can print up to 11x17. Have I used that yet, no, but I can if I want to. Most little/bargain printers do not print above legal size.

Your printer choice might also depend on how much room you have for it.

I have a Canon that I bought from the local Office Max that I paid $25 for as it was on clearance. It works great for what I need and I couldn't pass it up for the price. You might want to check the clearance items at stores that are similar to OM.
