  5. Beautiful work, the level of detail is amazing.
  6. Here's my entry this year. A '67 Plymouth GTX with the 426 Hemi. I didn't build it to look like a big budget show car, just something a fairly normal car guy could build up to travel across country. Painted Charcoal Grey with blacked out chrome for a more stealthy look. Good luck to all!
  7. Awesome work Bill and Niko. As for me the Formula is most likely out. I had a better idea for it and am turning it into a tribute build and giving it as a gift to my Dad. I don't except to have it done in time and don't want to rush it either, I want it to do it right. The Dart's not looking to good either but we'll see. Good thing I got the GTX done earlier (yet to post final photos) so I'll at least have something to drive.
  8. After some help from Glenn, I believe they were wire basket rims without the baskets. As for finding them in scale I haven't had any luck yet, but I'm still searching. The closet thing I have in scale is from a '57 Nomad are center lines like these. . I'm currently working on modifying them over as best I can. I have shaved off the nubs (can't think of the proper name off the top of my head) and have them soaking in brake fluid to de-chrome them. After that I'll try taking some putty to try to give them a dish closer to the 1:1. If it works out I'll look into getting either Alcad II or Spaz Stix spray can chrome to re-chrome them. Unless I can find better rims in scale before then of course. Snag for the kit's engine. Straight from the box the tail end of the left side transmission was broken off, if that's not enough what's not broken was bowed out over an 1/8th. The left side looked like a banana, I didn't think to get pics I just went straight to fixing it. Here's what it looks like at the moment. Of course this only happened because it was the one time I didn't examine the entire kit. The hood is finally good enough for the scoops so I'll get onto that today. You can see the template in the tops of the photos. Thanks for looking!

  11. Very nice build!
  12. Thank you for the kind words Gary. Doing builds like these really gives you a greater appreciation of the 1:1. Looking over the photos I have noticed much more about the car, some of the details I may not be able to replicate but I'll do my best. Best of luck to you on your project, I'm sure your son will cherish it when it's done. If it's in the w.i.ps I'll be sure to look for it. Thanks Carl, the body work was a bit of a challenge, the hood is still beating me though. The biggest challenge I think I'll face is replicating the pinstriping. I'm going to try using testors decal maker first and see how that goes.
