  1. Wow Nice, I really kile the Wood sides. How about adding some Tire's in the cargo area... that woud be cool
  2. I know! you need to stop in more... your really missing a lot...
  3. I have been hiding this one down in the Truck area..... thought I would move it up for everyone to see. Its a resin Ward Lafrance Cab mastered by Dave AKA Cargostar... you can find him also down in the truck area. I mated the cab with the AMT ALF Pumper body and frame. added loots of goddies and lettered it from Scranton PA. who at one time ran lots of pumpers like this... the only modification to the AMT kit was making the rear facing jump seat area wider and scratch building it to mate up with the Ward Cab. Paint is Krylon Banner red buffed out with BMF trim. the boster hose is 18g wire and the rear hose is sewing elastic. dyed with lipton tea. also special thanks to firemodelman fir the front roof beacons that are real glass!! 4. Well Its complete It started out as a Trumpiter American Lafrance Pumper. I scratch built the rear rescue box. and added and after market light tower... - the decals that are being made By Joe a Die cast and Decals. I finished the light tower and made the protective diamond plate around it to keep the trees from damaging the Lights. I also made enclosed compartments on the front bumper. Sorry about the plug but If you guys want to see more cool fire builds there are ones 10xs better than mine @ www.scalefirehouse.com and look for our contest coverage in the new MCM issue Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki THE LIGHT TOWER WORKS!!! 5. Thanks for the nice comments... Eshaver, The Jimmy Flintstone resin was good to work with... and Im shure this body is still available. Randxo, As for a first time resin.... It should be on the easy side... as with all resins I notice "Shrinkage" and some Parts fomr the kit need to be trimmed to fit.... I think the only thing that would make it better would be painted cream steel rims with center chrome caps Youe guys can always come down to www.scalefirehouse.com and see more of my builds and others... In the new MCM they cover last years contest at the site...
  6. Back in the day besides using Hearse as ambulances they would also convert Sedan Deliveries into cheep reliable Emergency ambulances. Thats what I was going for with this build Its a Jimmy Flintsone that I Picked up at the NNL East. I used a Lindburg 1953 Ford as the doner kit. A nice Build and the body was in great shape with very little clean up. Paint is Krylon Sweet Cream over Krylon Pumpkin Orange. Trim is Bare Metal Foil. I made the decals on my Epson inkjet with clear decal paper. they came out good as long as you print in all black or put the color one on white or the cream to allow the light to refract back and show the color. Let me know what you guys think.... The first two photos are the insperation. About the Decals. I made this for Fathers Day. I have a T Shirt that says Dads Rescue Service in old script and thought this would look great for this build. 9. Some more updates The Beacon Ray lights on the roof should look familiar As they are from Firemodel man himself. A really nice light that he made himself out of Glass automotive bulbs. (Dave post your tutorial here also) I have the cab mounted to the frame and Pumper body one. You can see from the doghouse forward is completed minus the bumper. (anyone have a spare one from the Autocar kit??) Paint is Krylon Banner red. And trim is BMF. I still have lots of work to do on the pumper body. 11. The real Fire truck. I did take some liberties with the details as Scanton had over 7 of these Rigs and even some in "Slime Lime" color Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki And a few shots of the Resin cab and parts Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki
  12. Well I don’t post here too often. I hide at the scalefirehouse.com but I do like posting here a lot more than the SAE site. Everyone is a lot friendlier here. I know Firemodelman and Aaron are here a lot. So this is a Resin Ward Lafrance Ambassador Cab from Models by Dave AKA "Cargostar" on the scale firehouse site. The can is a great casting and great quality in the poor of the resin. It needed very little cleanup. I am using the AMT American Lafrance Pumper as a donor for the pumper body and frame. I have the Cab painted and windows installed. Paint is Krylon Banner red and BMF for the trim. The Beacon rays on the roof are from Firemodelman (thanks DAVE) Ill have more Photos soon... This will be decaled for Scranton PA. Next to my hometown. Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki The head on shot showing Firemodelman's Home made Beacon rays. They even have real Glass Domes just like the real thing!!! Hosted on Fotki
  13. I have been waitng for this one some time. I plan on building two of these on fro me and one for my dad. It is my Grandfather in the Photo. Hosted on Fotki
  14. The Dodge Diplomat from Motomax should be out soon also in diecast and 1/25 scale should make for some nice Police car builds....
  15. Thanks for the nice coments. the resin can be a pain in the A$$ and for the turn signals. im only 26 so I really dont know just had to make you feel older. But if thats the case i can cver them with white paint of Bare metal foil. thanks for the tip
  16. Ok you have all seen the 59 and thanks for all the nice remarks. Now here is the group shot of my 59 and 57. The 1957 is a R&R kit that comes with Body, Interior, "glass", and bumper. A nice kit but the bumper came chromed but the front had some fish eye's (a bad chrome job but I used it) it still looks good. Paint is the Krylon Sweet Cream over Banner Red. and trim is BMF. These were built to represent a Fire Depts. Two Ambulances as found in the late 50’s Thanks for looking.
  17. Thanks Novadose. Yea Bare metal foil is one of my well used tools. There are some really nice classic ambulances out there. you should see some of the Pontiac's they had in the 60's
  18. WOW it looks great Stock. I really Love the color combo on this one. I appears they passengers like what they see. i cant wait to see how this build fits with the diorama
  19. Well its Done, A Jimmy Flintstone Superior Cadillac Ambulance Body on a Polar Lights Ecto 1 Kit. The resin body was very nice with a little cleanup and fit testing. I painted it Krylon Sweet Cream over Krylon Banner Red. The trim is BMF and the Interior was done Two tone red and black. The windows are The Kits windshield with Vacuumed Formed Plastic rear windows (from the JF Body) and Clear plastic for the side windows. The Emergency Lights are as follows. Superior Bullet lights made by me.. Beacon Ray #17 Made from the AMT ALF Base and the dome from the 1975 Blazer snap kit. The Spot lights are from a Custom 1960's model kit and the the mirrors on the back. and the Q Siren and Fender light is from the Revell of Germany Peterbuilt Pumper. Any comments are welcome. PS I hope there not a limit on pics
  20. Thanks for the comments everyone, mademan, its a great kit to build, and even box stock you can add any decals or Emergency lights you want and it will still have the custom look... if you guys like this one wait till you see my 59 Superior Cadillac High Top Ambulance. NOW that one is cherry...
  21. I an surprised no one has casted this in resin and made it a high top ambulance conversion like they did for the ecto one kit and Jimmy Flintstones 59 Superior High Top.. Now thats a nice conversion...
  22. I have been a member for a while but....Sorry I don’t post here as much, But I spend most of the time a thescalefirehouse.com <not a plug .. I just wanted to share one of my recent builds. The model is a Johan Cadillac ambulance. The kit is of a 1966 Miller Meteor Cadillac Ambulance. This is a very nice kit w/o and build problems. What I have done to it was Painted it Krylon Banner Gloss Red. The interior was done the same with semi gloss black trim and seats.. all the trim was done with Bare Metal Foil. And the decals are MicroScale emergency vehicles. I used the stock corner emegengy lights with the addition of a Parts Box clear dome beacon in the middle of the roof. A mostly simple OOB build..
