  1. try Newt's Boneyard for both the Revell 283, and the chassis / floor pan you want. I've always had good luck finding what I want, and he's really reasonable on pricing!
  2. Revell's '57 Chevy has a SWEET 283..... very detailed! 1/25th scale, that is....
  3. LOve the 'Vette grille... maybe open it up from the back with a Dremel?
  4. Lookin absolutely BADASS!!!!! Just a thought... Packard Clipper taillights? Laker's pipes? Corvette rally wheels with 3-prong spinners?
  5. What an AWESOME "Draggin Wagon"!!!! Not sure the hood scoop is BIG enough, though.... LOL!!! It looks B!TCHIN!!!!! Great job!!!
  6. The panel WOULD look ultra cool.... maybe some fender skirts, as well? Already looking SCHWEET!!!!
  7. Latest pics of the build... I used the floor from a '99 Silverado, since the Cameo's interior tub doesn't extend all the way out to the body/doors. I added a custom center console, as well. I narrowed the rear section of the frame, and added inner wheel tubs to allow for the much wider tires, and molded the taillight housings into the rear of the Cameo bedsides.
  8. Lookin GOOD so far!!!! How much ya gonna section it?
  9. Awesome JOB!!! What's the engine gonna be? Maybe a blown 4.6?? Or.... did you ever see an article about "Daisy"... it was a FoMoCo next-gen concept of the Cobra? Had their V-10 in it.... they even had Carroll Shelby repeat his famous "circle burnout" he did in the original Cobra back in the early 60's.... Just a couple of ideas for the engine... You are doing an amazing job of replicating the Venom!!!! Can't wait to see it finished!!
  10. Here are pics of the latest work..... Added fender skirts to the Cameo bed, and tubes for the headlights... more to come....
  11. I like the idea of taking cues from the P51 Mustang.... maybe a darker silver on the engines to set them off..... this thing is too cool already!!! Or, maybe a pearl white, with a bright blue tribal flame motiff....
  12. What a SUPERB job!!!! I have a buddy that has a 1:1 '61... it is painted "Black Cherry" which is a black finish, with red highlights.... and Halibrand wheels.... we built a 440 Magnum engine, and 727 Torqueflite tranny, with a push-button shifter...
  13. Awesome build!! I'm assuming you scratch-built the skirts.... tell us how you did them? I'm building a '58 GMC extended cab pickup, and I want to make skirts for it.....
  14. WOW!!! Looks like you could drive it from Atlanta to LA..... nice build!
  15. Man, this thing is WAY beyond SICK!!!! A long time ago, I had a '66 Corv8.... it was a Monza with a Crown V8 conversion subframe, with a Hillborn injected L79 327... we extended the velocity stacks up through the roof, then put a Lexan scoop over them... it was bonded to the Lexan rear window..... that car was FUN!!! It would corner like it was glued to the road, and you could take a corner at 45mph, and barely chirp the tires!!!! I had to get rid of it... too many speeding tickets LOL!!!
  16. WOW..... You've got one AWESOME imagination!!!! Not to mention SKILLS....
  17. WOW!!! What a GREAT tribute!!! I personally vote for a "suede" royal purple... with a set of widened stock wheels, in a shiny gold or copper, with stock hubcaps.... definately go with the flathead... with an early roots-type blower, and a pair(or a trey) of Strombergs.... "pie-crust" slicks on the rear, and wide whitewalls all around... and over-the frame-rail headers..... dark chocolate brown leather interior, banjo steering wheel, skull shift knob on a tall shifter... IRS rear suspension (LIncoln Versailles?)... '39 blue-dot taillights... but that's just ME....
  18. Here's the assembled Cameo bed, test-fitted to the truck. The engine is the stock small block from the Cameo, with the upper end and front assembly from the '99 Silverado kit's 5.3 liter engine. I'm thinking of moulding the Cameo taillights into the rear fenders, and pouring acrylic in the centers for lenses. I'm also going to wire the truck for working head lights, taillights, and front park lights, as well as driving lights in the GMC "Dagmars"
  19. Man, that car looks VICIOUS!!! 427 SOHC???
  20. Bill, the picture is actually a photoshopped image I created using a program called GIMP... Pretty cool, huh?? The actual picture was of a '58 Chevy pickup... I manipulated it to appear as if it was an extended cab, then added the GMC grille/bumper.
  21. Thanks, fellas!!! I'm new to posting on forums, but I appreciate the kind comments! I'm kinda excited about this build... can't wait to get it done!! (I know, I KNOW.... I'll try to take my time...)
  22. Dang, that brings back memories!!!! My best friend in high school had a '66 Stang... I traded for a set of American Racing wheels for his, and gave 'em to him for his birthday.... his car has the 289 CJ engine, with the C4 auto... I talked him into a 4-speed swap....(LOTS more fun to drive)... He STILL has that car! We put the 4-speed out of my '67 Cougar in it, after the Cougar got bent around a telephone pole.....
  23. This is the start of my first model build-up in over 10 years... this is how I'd like to build the real truck... it will be a '58 GMC extended cab 4-door pickup, with a late-model engine married to a Saginaw 4 speed overdrive hybrid transmission (yes, it CAN be done). It will have Corvette-style rally wheels on RWL radial tires, and all the creature comforts afforded in a late-model pickup. The actual truck will have a short fleetside bed, but I'm using the Cameo bed for the model (unless someone knows where I can get the short fleetside bed?) I ordered the cab, frame and interior tub from Ron Andrews, and I am extremely pleased with them! The detail and fit are great, and at a reasonable price!!! I am still looking for tires, door handles, and the short fleetside bed, if anyone has any suggestions... I also welcome any other ideas!! Thanks for looking!!
  24. Lots of COOL stuff!!! Prices are good, too!!!
