  1. The 58 Fairlane , in my opinion, is one of the prettiest Fords ever built. The body was very similar to the 57, but with enough changes that it really was a stand out! You did a fantastic job on this period perfect piece Rich! Right down to the blue dots in the tail lights that no one else has commented on. I can't wait to get one of these myself. Ol' J.C. Whitney would be proud. ps. Did I mention that I love your color choice? Can I bring my 58 to cruise with you?
  2. I'm amazed at his super clean window installation. I was getting glue spots on my glass even after I graduated high school. Beautiful build Beau! Keep building, I wanna see MORE!!!
  3. Very clean build Carl. I don't often see the newer birds being built. I like the color as well...looks like the 1:1 IROC I had back in 85.
  4. Thank you Brett, that's very kind of you Joshua, yep, everything is pretty tight under the hood on this one. I wasn't sure the hood was going to go down at all with the supercharger sticking up like it does
  5. I agree with Dirk, I could not get that hood to lay flat on the drivers side. I almost glued in in the open position but it broke up the "fluid" lines of the overall car with it open. My up top seemed to fit almost perfectly, especially after I tweaked one front corner a smidgen. I'm not sure if the spoiler sits too high. The mounting points could be sanded down a touch to get it closer to the trunk lid. I thought it looked ok as it was. Overall I still recommend this kit. It was fun to build & most everything fit quite well.
  6. Thank you again for the nice comments. I have to say this Bonnie was one of my favorite builds of last year. I will have more "classic" kits for you to see this year. Charlie, I was going for just that look when I picked the interior colors. The only one I might have changed was the dark green on the floor & dash...I think could have been a little more towards blue-green. I'm very happy though that you all like my builds. I'll try not to dissapoint in the future.
  7. Thanks for the great comments Sean, Jason & Carl. It was a fun build ...as all of them should be.
  8. Thanks guys! Ali, the interior is Testors spray flat black with Testors semi gloss clear sprayed over it. The supercharger was added on by Saleen during the conversion.
  9. This is a Revell 98 Saleen Mustang Speedster that I painted in HOK Razberry Pearl with black interior. This is a highly recommended kit that goes together very easy & has loads of detail. Hope you enjoy the photos.
  10. Absolutely beautiful!!!
  11. I spent some time in my hobby workshop today working on the Saleen. Here are some pictures of my progress. Decals are almost completely done, windshield, headlights & tail lights are installed. The interior is done & ready to install. I never noticed the dust in the interior until I took pics with the flash on.
  12. Thanks again guys, for all the great comments. James, the R&R Resin kits have very few pin holes but they do require quite a bit of clean up & in some cases a lot of thinning to get parts to fit properly. All in all, they do fill a blank area, so I won't complain too loudly.
  13. Gorgeous paint job!! I've bought several of those flame paint masks & just waiting for good weather to try them out. Sure an easy way to do flames
  14. Thanks for the great comments guys! Kevin, thanks for the advice...I will definitely do that.
  15. I painted this right after Christmas along with a couple other kits. I started working on the Saleen tonight. It's painted with HOK Razberry Pearl & the interior will be black. I'm going to do this one box stock. Here are a few photos of my progress.
  16. Thanks for the great comments. James, I didn't even think to take before pics as I was anxious to start on this one. It was put together with minimal glue & no paint on anything. Bruce, this one was always a convertible so I didn't have too much work involved. It was missing the conv. boot & I swiped one from a Monogram 59 Impala that fit perfectly. I also used the 59 steering wheel & column & continental kit.
  17. Thank you for the great comments. George53 I miss Johan as well. Their kits were far from complicated but they had the right look to them & they were always filling a spot that was void from the other makers. They did the , shall we say, non-mainstream cars that nobody else would do...Ramblers, Desotos, Cadillacs. John...a kit is only as simple as you let it be
  18. Thanks for all the nice comments guys. Gene, I'm with you on lovin the Ponchos!!
  19. Probably just one of many reasons why Studebaker isn't around today. I really love the look of these little Larks & the 53 Starliner was YEARS ahead of it's time in styling!
  20. Here's an older build of a Modelhaus resin kit...before AMT re-issued the 62. Classic white with red upholstery.
  21. One more of my older builds from the 90's. Monogram 64 GTO coupe painted in a dark Plum metallic with peanut butter interior.
  22. Another of my older builds, this is the AMT 51 Chevy Bel Air hardtop. I used the same corduroy upholstery as I did on my 50 Ford convertible. Aftermarket wheels & two-tone paint with a small block for power. Hope you enjoy. And I think Harry mentioned something recently about no one adding valve stems to their wheels...the photo is a bit blurry but I think you can see my valve stem in that shot.
  23. Here's another of my older builds from the 90's...the Johan 62 Studebaker Lark snap kit. A very simplistic kit, but it was fun putting a few of my own touches on it. I painted it in a light blue solid base & then sprayed white pearl over the body. Lowered the front suspension & added wheels & tires from the Revell 56 Ford pickup. A couple chrome exhaust tips out the back & it made a nice Boulevard cruiser. Hope you enjoy.
  24. The only model contest I ever entered & I took home First In Show for my 61 Dodge Dart Phoenix.
