  1. I bought this parts kit trailer off ebay and restored it. This particular trailer is from MPC’s Mako Shark kit but the same trailer was included in MPC’s ’76 Caprice. Scratch built the front rail, storage tray and tail light housings. The gas cans and tool box are from the current issue of the Falcon Ranchero. The build thread is here: http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/topic/120397-race-car-trailer/

Thanks Bruce. The detail on most of the engine is quite good. However they made no effort on the spark plugs. I removed the blobs and reshaped the plug recesses with a ball bit. I am working on some replacement plugs. If I can't find or make anything acceptable I'll just leave them out. Also added a connector to the exhaust manifold for the pipe.
  3. The Revell '66 GT350 has nice fined Cobra script covers but they are for a 289. Use could try reshaping them?
  4. Those look more like 428, I can't recall ever seeing fined 427 valve covers.
  5. What do the valve covers look like Kurt, are they standard 427?
  6. Did the AM Cobra Daytona Coupe ever make it to test shots or even photos?
  7. Image: Spark Racing Technology FOX SportsFeb 12, 2017 at 1:11p ET Spark Racing Technology (SRT) has unveiled its design for the next generation of Formula E cars. SRT was founded in 2012 and built the Spark-Renault SRT_01E, which each Formula E team ran during the inaugural season from 2014-2015. Now, the French company – having won the official tender from the FIA to supply the season 5 chassis from 2018 onwards – has released images of the SRT05e. Image: Spark Racing Technology For season 5, which will run from 2018-2019, the cars will be redesigned to be more aerodynamic, lighter and more efficient. The reason why is simple: Beginning in Season 5, the cars will have to be able to complete a full race without stopping. Currently, the batteries are not powerful enough to take a Formula E car from the start to the finish of an ePrix, and so the drivers have to pit mid-race to change vehicles. For this next generation of car, a new battery will be installed that will be powerful enough to go from flag-to-flag, but it will be heavier. The SRT05e will also feature safety improvements such as an aeroscreen, which will help protect the driver from any flying debris, as well as fenders over each tire to prevent cars going airborne from wheel-to-wheel contact.

Thanks Art. I have a few more things to do on the block and then I can turn my attention to the transmission.
  15. Thanks JT. Alan I wanted to paint the trailer a different color but I think black is the most appropriate. Look forward to seeing your project John.

Thanks Manuel. And Eric thank you for the information, photos and your opinion. My goal is to build a very traditional Model T engine so I think I will take your advice.
  17. This things is just about wrapped up. I still need to do some detailing on the wheels but I'll show that in "Under Glass" when I get it done.
  18. Yea Andrew I have been contemplating shortening the trailer. With the ramps stowed the trailer tips nose up. I remember your project would like to see you get back after it.
  19. Excellent work Jamie.

Eric, having a 1:1 in the garage you are obviously more knowledgeable about these engines than I. Would a generator and an electric starter be appropriate? I believe the engine is from the '25 Ford Fruit Wagon kit. I have seen you tube videos of stand mounted T engines and many of them show a coil box, generator and an electric starter along with the hand crank.

I separated the manifold and carb and made a flange from a small punch of sheet stock. Drilled through all the parts and reinstalled them on a mounting pin. A black was during final construction will tone down the colors and bring out some of the carb detail.
