I really like this one John. Gotta go in the "must do" list. I have only seen this kit in the box. But besides the sleeper, air deflector, and bull bar, was serious hacking/scratchbuilding required on the truck? -

I like it. Another (cheap) option to consider on the windshield. A 2 liter pop bottle. I have used them to recreate busted/missing canopies on airplane models for others in the past. Just have a candle for GENTLE heat and try. Surely are not out anything. The "curve" where the side rolls into the bottom of the bottle might be just about right for the hard curve at the outer edges. Worth a try anyway... -

This immediately popped to mind from "back in the day" as soon as I saw your decals. I like the blue base on yours. I would (sadly) not have dared try blue as the primary color. Shows what I know as this really looks good and is not so "loud" and screaming for a driver wearing polyester plaids, half undone silk shirt and bell bottoms. Ahhh the good old days. Turning out very nice John. -
While not as cheap, but a bit more "rigid" as I am doing fuel injector lines/rails... Jewelry making wire. It is solid core and has a rubber type coating. Lot of colors and holds it shape. Have found up to 26 gauge. Hobby Lobby has a "multi pack" of 3 rolls for a couple of bucks.

Greatly appreciate the procedure and the vocablulary lesson. The ability to bewilder a fool (i.e. identify him as an insert assessment here while he thinks you are praising him) is a true talent in and of itself. It certainly beats screaming obscenities. Anybody can do that....just look at the comments people put on youtube. I must absquatulate as my apotropaic skills are required as there is great iniquity besetting. The deliverance of beleagured tapestries is drawing nigh....aka....I got to let the dog out.

Dont forget JT's find on cheap peeps (not be confused with the likes of me) at Hobby Lobby. A touch of work on the face and hair along with a dulling "wash" to pull out some details . They aint bad...especially for the price compared to the Tamiya or Dragon ones. -

Really nice. The Canadian spread and headache rack make it! Is is just me or the last pic but did you slap a "big baloney" front tire on it? Canadian spread with a 18K front axle surely works if that is what you did. Throw some Candian doubles or a Michigan train behind it. You got the power!.....Just thinking out loud...not trying to tell you what to do. Nice job. Nice to know the engine swap went well. That goes in the "must try sometime soon" category. -
I assume you are dealing with a 1/25 with "piano" hinges. While I have not tried it myself, there is a neat youtube by a kid using thread to cut out doors on 1/25 cars. It really worked well (for him) and am eager to try it. There is aftermarket makers for 1/25 piano hinge assuming you want to go back with it. I have never found any piano hinge small enough in hobby and craft stores for that scale. Some small plastic tubing and brass rod will allow you to create something sturdy, decent, and potentially wild in terms of how/where it opens if you are content with a "2 hinge" system like most cars. Just becomes a lesson in geometry more more than anything. Good luck..

Hope the drool stains dont show up on the this post. So is everything in it? What is the term they use now "barn find?" Congrats! Now just get some 70's vintage Mopars painted up for the Joey Chitwood? Hell Drivers and throw on tailer. Perfect fodder for a "carnie rig" if ever there was one. -

If you start a free web blog at something like tumblr.com and just insert links here, maybe that would be the way to go? Just an opinion. Really interesting project. Hats off to you. -
