  1. Thanks for the heads up Mike, I'll sure take your advice into consideration. I have a soft spot for the Dart (And a few others my dad had back in the day) in the race/street rod version, but I want to break away from the "usual" orange or red theme which makes it a bit complicated; I always do internet searches for reference and pretty much every single Dart shown is in one of these colors . Another thing that makes it a little limited are the colors of the decals, the bright orange stripe will totally throw away colors like Black or Light Metallic Blue.... hmmmm The rod version of the charger looks awesome (Hence the orange marks shown around it), assuming I don't ruin the 1st body, I want to try a full black as well... In any case, your words are already thundering in the back of my head ("Slow, Careful work with sanding paper")... That my friend is a real challenge!!!. Ah!, my twin project just became a poor single
  2. Keeping an eye on this thread brings back the hatred discussion I had with my Mom when she made me pick Business Admin and Finance over Engineering... Bill you are truly good!!!
  3. Ah but wait... I'M NOT A QUITER.... This is the second model, still crappy, but gotta be finished... Right?
  4. So much for praising masking skills... Just ruined the project and made it even worse by trying to fix it Not sure if this would be appropriate but $&#*&!@#$% Like a wounded dog I tried retouching it, and even applied a couple decals, but my paint traces are also off and the decals come out of line... With this said....
  5. Mike and Tomo... Look at what you made me do....
  6. Looks awesome Tomo, you did great bud.
  7. Thank you John... Speaking of masking:
  8. Thank you Mike, I like both the Charger and the Duster, almost purchased a Street Charger today (Tempted by the 1/16 scale). I do have here a couple Shelby GT's, but like I said before, the molds look like they need loads of work.... Ah!!!... I did ruin a Dick Landy 67 Dart using the Spaz Stix stuff last week... I may try to find another kit and use the incomplete set to replace any parts I ruin during the build.
  9. Mike / Oscar You have no idea how hard this is for me... When you look in the dictionary for the definition of impatient, the whole page is filled with my name in it!!! (I'm like a donkey snorting wide open in my chair!!!!). Some more work on the chassis:
  10. Thank you Derick, I definitively see a hot rod in a near future... Thanks Mike, the Dart, the Charger and maybe even the Fairlane look really cool, I wish I could find a 72 Ford Falcon GTHO sedan (This last one was owned by my dad back in the late 70's)... I would love to do a Bathurst Special.
  11. Will do Dave, thanks for reading.
  12. Next... I think that would be all for a couple more days... My back is crooked!!!
  13. Thank you Jeff, these were not the original plan for the next build but they sure look cool. Hand dried the silver and masked for yellow (I can only imagine your faces looking at the masking tape ) Made my mind to finish the bodies today!!!... I just hope my wife's hair dryer holds
  14. I think painting it as a street car will do the trick Tomo, there was nothing rally about this car in the 80's other than the roll cage and the fog lights.... By the way, there is no engine in the kit (I guess because the whole body is closed up).
  15. One has got to be itchy to get scratchy... Please pardon my masking skills... Is one of them things that only gets worse! Dry paint... Dry!!!!
  16. Yes Tomo, this kit was originally meant to be an electric build, but the factory added the option to make it a model by inserting a steel pin to attach the rear suspension I think the most challenging part would be to paint the pilots
  17. I hope so Jim, these are a lower skill level (Hence the doubles)...
  18. Mr. Antsy pants... To my next project ---->
  19. Fresh out from my third build (A Tamiya 1/24 1989 Sauber Mercedes C9), I'm taking on a double build project for a couple 1982 Renault 5 Turbo Rally... Making it a double because I'm giving one to a good friend of mine in South America (Where this particular model was very popular even as a street car), so we will make these build # 4 and # 5. Found a few reference photos... The kits... Sanding and Priming... Thank you for reading.
  20. Thanks Mike, I can honestly say this was without a doubt the most challenging one so far, but at the same time I felt a few things throughout the build came out easier than in the previous two. Been thinking about building a Hot Rod.... I keep watching Donn Yost's DVD tutorials and he does really nice stuff (Like a Charger, a Dart, a hard top GTO or maybe even an old Ford pick up truck slammed down. OR maybe one of these??? Any suggestions?
  21. Thank you Brian... I just realized the spoiler is backwards
