  1. Never done drag racing but I have certainly been on many-many race cars since I was 18 years of age... Never before I heard of a 60's, 70's street modified to a race car without mufflers. I don't thing this particular model qualifies as a drag car either (Arent those supposed to have different engines and bars on the rear and stuff???) Hummmm Here is a photo of the undercarriage of a 1968 Charger with a level two race mod:
  2. Uhhhh???... So you are saying the race version of this set is not complete? (I don't see pipes to run alone in the kit)...
  3. James / Tomo.... Did you guys have to trim the mufflers?, I'm getting an excess of about 3/4"
  4. Faux Fabric (Available in Black, Red and Gray)
  5. You were really lucky then James, I had to break it loose to fit the side panels and the dashboard, otherwise the dashboard would have been tilted to the back. I did see your green Charger, but the thread only goes to the point where you painted the chassis.
  6. That is probably a rookie mistake Derick (For not test fitting ahead), The firewall is suposed to be glued three steps before the side panels and the dashboard, not to mention the cockpit bay got crooked after it was painted... But now that you mentioned, if you look at the photo of the engine bay in the box, there is also a small gap there... Maybe not as bad as mine though
  7. Ah!!!... I know this is a "car forum" but for the past two days I have been starring at the stuff presented at the recent Moson Model Show in Hungary Seems like it will take a lifetime to acquire the skills needed to do weathering, washes, etc etc... But is certainly something that cranks my gears!!!
  8. Shiiiish.... It was one of "those" days!!!! Had to improvise a windshield decal because the glue dripped a little bit over the glass... On top of that, I ruined the top decal removing the excess tape (Weird considering it was already clear coated) so I had to replace it. The engine and radiator wall went in easily enough though Sorry about the picture quality... Low lighting.
  9. Excellent!!!....
  10. Thanks Derick, after dealing with Tamiya decals these seemed like a walk in the park!!! Clear coat tomorrow
  11. Is all right Derick, they all look similar anyway... I just wanted to have cables
  12. Thanks a million John... I'm obviously not really good at constructive/destructive criticism, but the one thing I know is I'm building these for myself, sharing them with you guys is just a bonus This is only a sneak peek but I can say right off the bat "Gotta LOVE Revell decals"!!!
  13. I'll look around for the Window Glue in the Testors brand... Fred, If you can snap a pic of the stuff you use when you get home I'd truly appreciate it. Dan I ordered this distributor, I hope it works (All the wires from the engine were removed).
  14. Thank you guys. Who manufactures the Window Glue?... I use ultra thin Tamiya cement mostly (Because of its capillarity properties).
  15. Thank you Jason. The next part I'm hating already... The body has to be finished in order to attach the chassis (Meaning, the windows have to be glued because once the engine, the radiator and the front bumper go in, they cannot be taken apart); Since I use a thick coat of clear over the body, I will have to add decals, apply the clear, do the windows and then unite the chassi and the body, only then the radiator and the bumpers can be attached.... I know this will make or break the project
  16. Tried the Faux Fabric on the seats and door panels... It works better if you apply it from a distance (The spray nozzle shoots a lot of paint). My friend Mike was right, the Revell plastic is very susceptible to the paint... Parts like the cockpit bay will retract and bend making the fitting really challenging.
  17. Thanks Joe. Has anyone tried this stuff before?
  18. Thank you Jason, I was just trying to make it look better (At least thought so). I'll keep an eye out for the new build thread Removed all the stuff from the engine and ordered a pre-wired carb last night, also painted the firewall.
  19. Whatever bud.... I'll backtrack to box-stock tomorrow.
  20. The firewall is shown in black in the box photo... (Or maybe you meant inside, so like I said, did not like it).
  21. I would certainly love to see that!!!... Never wired a car ever before, so a nice tutorial by someone experienced would make my day
