  1. I turn 50 in less than 2 months . I hope to go through my Mid-Life crisis in about 7 years . My brother got me into modeling when I was about 8. Too bad he got me a P-51 plane and a submarine. Got into cars shortly after blowing those 2 up with firecrackers (he helped) . Took some time off for real cars and women . Did radio control up till I was 24, and then picked the car building hobby back up again. Hands are still steady, eyes went when I hit 40 . Hope I never have to give this hobby up.
  2. Billy: Me and the West by God Virginia Boy'z will be there 5 strong. The new guy Tim will be bringing one huge, very high HP, over 6800 cubic inch , 1/12th scale drag racing machine. I hope the table will support it. See you there!
  3. The definition of "Pro Touring" has many answers and is not well defined. I usually get ther a little late and will probally just see what other modelers are displaying in that class, .... but you know what the display tables are like at Toledo. I'll more than likely end up sticking it where-ever I can find a little table space. Hope to see you there.
  4. Yes Gregg, thanks for surprising me with my beetle on the cover. I planed to thank you personally in Toledo, and I still will. I hope your magazines circulation didn't go down because of that nasty, shocking photo I saw inside of some fat guy. Let me tell you, the cover was a total surprise, but the photo inside shocked me and droped me to the floor laughing. Thanks again for Model Cars Magazine, this forum and for just doing what you do for all us modelers. See you in Toledo!
  5. Wow, does this bring back memories. When I was ... 10ish I can remember my dad always coming in my room when I was building my cars and saying (and I quote him here because it's etched in my head) "playing with those ###### kiddy cars again!" Well I never fully gave up on "my ###### kiddy cars" through life, and today he's quite proud of my accomplishments. I even had to buy him the Model Cars issue with my beetle on the cover so he could show his buddies. It's more of a joke to me these days with him. When somthing like the magazine cover happens, I get to anounce to him, "hey look at this! There's one of my ###### kiddy cars on the cover" Never give up what you enjoy. Everything will work out.
  6. Hey thanks! I'll be bringing it. I'm still wondering if it fits in the "Pro-Touring" Theme. What do you think?
  7. Santiago; It will be great see you and Mr. Biggs again. Bringing anything new?
  8. Check thes out. New Detail Master Door Hinges as seen on my green beetle. Carb. linkage now in brass. Flamed gas, brake and clutch pedals as well as tons of flamed detail items.
  9. Thanks Chris. That's one of my favorite builds also. I tried to take my time on that one and perfect a lot of my techniques.
  10. Great job on the photos Lyle. Good talking with you again.
  11. Thanks for the photos Cruz. See I told you! Never count chickens .......
  12. Here's my photos from todays show. Check them out at: http://public.fotki.com/gkulchock/all-my-m...-september-sho/
  13. There you go counting those chickens again Cruz'. It will be great to finally make this show and see you again. Looks like 4 of us coming at last count, leaving Morgantown at 4am. should get there when the doors open.
  14. Rust-All system and pastel chalks work great for me.
  15. It's looking as if 4 or 5 of us West By God Virginia boyz' (really old boyz' ) will be making the show for the first time. Save us some table space! LOL
  16. Why can't I just finish the models I have started? Here's my newest. Based on the Minicraft 1/16th scale 1936 Mercedes 540K. Power will be provided by the Allison V12 I just had made using Rapid Prototyping (RP). Here's a shot of the engine parts. There is no set deadline to have this project finished but you might just see it at the NNL East in 2009. If you care to see more, check out my Fotki site at: http://public.fotki.com/gkulchock/
  17. Here are some brass items I've been working on for a TearDrop trailer.
  18. Only 2 right now. I don't own these yet, but someday I'll find them at a decent price. Both 1/12 scale: Hasegawa 300zx and Rosso NSX
  19. Nice Cruz. I've been wanting to try that Rub 'N Buff. I know what's on my list for the next trip to Michaels.
  20. Thanks Cruz, but I never count my chickens before they are hatched, and there is always a bigger fish in the sea. Besides, there were so many great looking models at the show. All the 1/12 scale Camaros were fantastic, and I was blown away with all the guys machining parts and entire engines. I wish I had more time to spend looking in detail at each one of them. Great talking with you Cruz and hope to see you soon at another show.
  21. Great seeing you at the show Lyle. I know what you meant by being dead tired. The 7 Modcon shows we had for years would leave me dragging for days, ...... and I loved every min. of it.
  22. Actually Lyle I did not win the Street Machine Class. That was won by the beautiful blue and silver 1/12 scale Camaro built by Ray Carey if I'm not mistaken. My little bug was the Peoples Choice for the show, and I thank all who voted for it. Great show as always guys and I'm sure I will see you there next year.

  24. They will both be there and I'm bringing my Enzo LM too ..... and a little Mercedes I've been working on.
  25. I thank you. It was quite fun for me also.
