  1. being very new to this i am also very confused , i have noticed the amount of detail on all your engines and i look at the few i have and no way can they be as detailed as you guys have , do they have good aftermarket engines 1/24 - 25 scale , if so what is the best company for buying them .. Thanks ,Anne

  4. i have to say i only wanted to build a model of a stock car that my neighbor had when i was little , this car somehow became attached to me , i use to peak at it through the fence when ever he would work on it , and one day his wife saw me and said , you know you are more than welcome to come over and so i did and did so over the next 3 years until he moved away and when i went over and that was a lot i would do things like get tools and stuff like that and yep , get full of grease and i would go home and my mom would say , geeesh your a kook and she would get a huge kick out of it , anyway i joined this forum and what now amazes me is the level of what you guys are doing , it's totaly amazing and i am beyond impressed , you people are artists and an inspiration and you all should be very proud !!!
  5. reading this thread has inspired me , and inspiration cost money , i just dont know how you do what you do , dang , wow , holy cow

  10. yikes , and i just ordered a 55 chevy from this maker
  11. i am posting pics wrong , so forgive me people , first let me say what a great bunch you all seem to be , very welcoming , so this is my plan , when i bought this 40 Ford i also bought a 34 Ford early modified and i am going to use that chassis , i just need to make it about 1/2 inch longer , so i bought a bunch of styrene material of different sizes , and while i was at it i bought a few more models this is a blast , this sure beats the heck out of my sewing club !!! and if the girls could see me now they would call the guys in the white coats !!!!!! so next will be to set up a cool work station and get all the goodies , CC is empty , so time to fill it up !! Shop till you drop , and that i have no problem with
  12. well you guys are a wealth of info , i am going to be getting an airbrush but now do i go 20 lb CO2 tank , or compressor ,,, pro's and con's ?? thunks guys , Anne
  13. hey thanks for all the info guys , i know i posted this thread but i couldnt find it after , going to get an air brush this week , and i see they have mini spray booths , might as well get that too , and again thanks for the feedback ,, Anne
  14. this is crazy cool ,,, i see this stuff and it just brings up tons of questions ,, like how you did that to the roof and what glues and fillers , and the engine paint , spray or brush , the interior is amazing
  15. holy cow ,, how on earth do you do what you do , this is amazing ,, all the builds on here are amazing
  16. i have been looking at all these builds you people are doing and i am so totaly blown away and amazed , unreal talent
  17. i must be posting the pics wrong ,, anyway the paint is perfectly imperfect i think ,, as i remember on the real stock car the doors were welded shut , but had some gaps and i tried to do the same , on this body i shaved off all the molding and door handles and wiper blades and on the firewall i removed all the molded in wiring and junk , i remember the real car had an aluminum fire wall , or maybe steel but it was not painted , it was semi shiny so i bought some Bare-Metal matte aluminum and i will use it on the firewall , do that tomorrow
  18. hey Thanks guys , but i am going to be coming to a stop on this real fast ,, the problem is the chassis from what i remember about this car is i know it didn't have the 40 ford chassis , it's been 50 years since i have seen this car but i sure remember the insides so thats not a problem my problem now is the suspension , oh well , this may take some time to sort out
  19. oop's anyway i must have made a boo boo , back when i was little my neighbor had a stock car , a 40 Ford Sedan and when i first heard that race car it sent chills and i have never forgotten it so i must be getting nutty in my old age so i figure build a model as i remember this race car , this is my first time doing such a thing and maybe the first girl on here do to this , or maybe not , we come a long way baby !! lol anyway , the inside is an off white and the color of the car is baby blue , like the hood , so far this has been a blast !! Anne
  20. Hi , just a quick question , whats best , spray cans or air brush , and i see complete air brush units for 150 dollars , any good ?? and what paints are best if using an air brush ,, base coat ,, clear coat ,,thanks
