Honestly it's exactly what I was expecting. I don't want to be negative, but I know from owning/building enough of them that Revell products run the gamut and one never knows until a kit comes out if it's a winner or a dud or somewhere in between. I already have the T-top version of the kit, if I want it w/a solid roof I already know how to do a roof graft similar to what I did on the 1/24th T/A kit used with my C1 restomod project. The last Revell kit I built (the '71 Mach I) is a brilliant kit from design to execution to assembly. Their snap-kit VW Westfalia camper I built was a great kit, so much fun to detail out and looks killer when built, and Tim Kolankiewicz showed everyone how to build it in the pages of MCM, including the stocking trick for making the open camper top look realistic. Then Revell kind of borked the new-tool 007 Aston Martin, it's also a snap kit but it definitely wasn't treated to the same level of design competency nor parts quality. It can look good built, a club member did an amazing job on his, but it required some very heavy lifting and finishing skills.
Wonder how the roof on 1/24 snap-tite kit is....

Yes, but they won't do a Bluesmobile.
Well if one seeks more exposure to get more middle aged men into this hobby, this one might be the ticked. Cus think that side effect from the pandemic has passed, besides the movie fits into that age bracket as well I think, also maybe time to bring back the A- team van as wel, most rather remember it from the TV series than from that movie, same goes for the TV series CHiP's. 😉
Cheers

If they would do the Bluesmobile, the chassis with drive-train and floorpan including wheelwells would be a great starting point to add the already available 3D printed bodies, no?!

Hi all,
Is the Lindberg six cilinder engine from the ‘64 Dodge a good choice to make the Moebius ‘65 Coronet a low line model?
Also anyone who has a photo on how the upholstery of the front bench seat looks like?
TIA

Yes. Was reissued at least once since the original issue.
Under the SSP program IIRC.

I was unsuccessfully trying to argue it must be a car we've already seen on the programme, in which case the model length would have been pretty bang on for a 10th gen Eldorado in 1/25 scale.
Hmm...maybe cuz in another tread it said; no engine and rolling wheels. Which for a non factory convertible, makes sense, a one trick pony by default and nothing of which the tooling can be used to spawn several planned versions.
Edit: just learned that there were indeed factory Eldo's ragtops in 84 and 85. But anyway think beyond the show the intetest for a model of this car would be slim.
Hopefully the New York Toy Show brings us more news.
Cheers.

How can Revell kit a car featured in the yet unreleased ST Season 5, when the lead time to kit a kit is over one year?
Besides, the published measurements, in 1/25 scale, leave only one option.Which is?
Curious by nature.

Hello Luc,
Yes, they announced two kits,
- Ford RS 200 Lombard RAC Rally 1986
- Renault Maxi Megane
Also gravel conversion kits for the Fiesta S2000 WRC and the Fabia S2000 Evo.Thanks Christian, but think those were announced a few years prior, no?
Like the Ford RS200, think even that one was delayed. Due to the 2 projects they were going to announce at Nürnberg.
Slightly confused 😉

That's one of the things I'm not fond of, yes it mimicks the original kit, yet when it was tooled, sliding parts in model kit tooling were not yet implemented, nostalgia only go so far.
IMHO it makes the build, especially the painting more difficult, where the parts breakdown of a kit should help the builder in presenting a decent end result and then I'm not talking about warped parts.
But who am I.

I have a request for you guys in the U.S. since you seem to get new kits reaching your shores way earlier than Canada... If any of you got the Revell Germany version, I'd like to see what's different compared to the Revell USA version, that commands such a hefty price difference. A few months ago, many Canadian hobby shops offered preorders for the Stranger Things kits between 65 and 70$ CAD, leading us to beleive that Revell AG had the exclusivity on those kits. So I bought all 3 on preorder, having only received the Pizza Boy Vanagon so far, but now, they're getting in stock the Revell USA Billy's Camaro and Hopper's Blazer, for between 40 and 46$CAD, while the ones that I paid 66$ for still haven't arrived! When I pointed this out to my online hobby shop, they said "Revell Germany promises better quality than Revell USA"... I have doubts about that because my experience so far with Revell USA is really good, and I can't see what could be made better to charge an extra 20 bucks... Feels like a ripoff on Revell's part to me!

As you can see the only difference is the decal sheet and the box.
The instruction sheet will likely be the same except that, Revell in Germany doesn't include a partslist and also that the consumer service address will be Bunde instead of NJ. The difference in price is most likely due to the rerouting this version had to go through before ending in your neck of the woods, cuz China sends bagged shots to Poland where they are packaged in the typical Revell Euro boxes with Italian sourced decals and I asume the instruction sheet is local sourced too.
Hope that clears up this issue.
Cheers

I hope, that if Round-2 is looking into re-doing the '66 they include the never kitted '67, which IMHO slightly better looking.

Did you find any info on Belkits? (Yeah I know, an odd question coming from a Belgian 😉 )
Cus think they were going to announce two new kits at Nürnberg.

The AMT '49 Ford has an OHV Caddy V8 that might be workable. But a lot of work if accuracy is desired.
What Cadillac engine does the Revell '49 Mercury custom and Woody have?

Excellent.
Built one when they were first released, sadly it didn't survive, but still have an unbuild Lorinzer version

Just learned that it will be a 1/24th scale model kit.
More italeri news here....

Guess we will know for certain when Revell announces their 2025 product lineup at the Nürnberg trade show, since they didn't made it public on January 1st. like they did in the past decade or so...

Most likely a compromise to keep the T-top version available.
Cuz otherwise IMHO that is, they would've had to work on the core of the tool, the area wich forms the "headliner" part of the body, which mean retooling the clear T-top clear panels too if they want to release this version again in the future.
Bottom line is, it's 45 year old tooling.

The video also shows that they did alter the tooling for the roof so the T tops version will probably never come back. I had wondering if it would be possible to keep both versions but evidently not.
Don't think so, cuz the core of the tool as evidenced on the underside of the roof still shows the contours and they didn't weld off the T-top glass from the clear shot.
Anyway just MHO

I think their new distribution agreements are a good thing for the hobby in general. More people will get exposed to model building.
Indeed, and about more model kits news, maybe at the N.Y. Toy show in March?

Just came across this. Which seems like the cover of the 2025 Italeri catalog.
