  1. Great job on the engine bay, it looks very realistic and weathered perfectly. The truck looks awsome, you did one heck of a good job on that one. STEVE ALLEN
  2. That sounds just way too simple and easy Thanks for the tip, I can't wait to try it out in the near future along the back side of my garage scene STEVE ALLEN
  3. Well, I got the last one right on my first try, so I'm shooting for 2-for-2... hopefully... I'm going to go with model, larger scale, and possibly mostly scratch build. STEVE ALLEN
  4. That thing is soooooooo cooooooool Where did you get the towing rig on the back ?? STEVE ALLEN
  5. I am going to go with.... ummmm... geeeeeeee... O.K. real STEVE ALLEN
  6. That is one sharp Challenger you have there. I love the color and was wondering if the stripe was a decal or not ?? You did a great job combining two different model kits to come up with one great model. STEVE ALLEN
  7. Hey raisin, you did a great job there, I'm sure they will be happy with that car on their shelf. STEVE ALLEN
  8. Right now I am putting my 3 bay garage on a 20X40 board and I covered it with Black Tar Paper, the stuff that is laid down on a roof before the shingles go on. A neighbor was getting new shingles and I just asked the guys for a little bit, so the price was right STEVE ALLEN
  9. I don't know much about the title, but the car looks really cool Something you would see in American Graffitti except for the decals. I love the stance and I like the headers coming out behind the tires. What color and brand of paint did you use for this '55 ?? Did you have to do any suspension mods to get the stance like that ?? STEVE ALLEN
  10. Those are great looking rides.... I just might have to get me one of those just for the decal sheets, those are incredible !!!!!!!!!! Both sheets come in one box, right ???? STEVE ALLEN
  11. That IS a sharp looking car that you have there. That thing looks like it could fly thru the 1/4 mile Since I have never done a resin kit, are they easy to paint and did you have to polish this one out ?? The color is nice and glossy (which is hard to do with black). I like what you have done to this one... STEVE ALLEN
  12. Well, I retract the first line of my last statement I made earlier... As I sit here reading what chris coffey is saying, with a big dip in my mouth right now, I agree. I have been chewing Copenhagen/Kodiak for 20+ years, and even went thru a study conducted by the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN to try and quit this nasty habit. I did quit for about a month, then I was back at it again and WISH I could quit again, but it is my stress reliever from work, kids, financial set backs, etc... which are all excuses to keep chewing. So, I know what chris and other's are going thru with this "legal" drug (nicotine). Someday soon I do hope to quit this habit, for my kids and for my own health. STEVE ALLEN
  13. Well, I personally have never been hooked on drugs.... but in my line of business, I see first hand what meth, pot, crack, coke, etc... can do to people. I work at a Federal Prison as a Correctional Officer, and I can tell you from my experience talking with the inmates that drugs control the people, they don't control the drugs. Even though most of these guys have been away from drugs for 3, 5, even 10+ years, you can tell, just by talking with them, which ones are going to go back to drugs when they get out, and which ones won't. The people that are going back to the drugs are those that DIDN'T want to quit and DON"T want the help (we'll be seeing them again soon). But, those that WANT the help to quit drugs and GET the help that they need are the ones we won't be seeing again. People that want to quit and get help, can quit if they have the support of friends and family, but without the support, it is a lot harder to quit on their own. I guess what I'm saying is... if she is a friend, SUPPORT her and HELP her quit the addiction, and be with her through the whole process, it will be alot easier for her. You have an edge, you can speak from your own experiences from your past addiction, so you know what she is going through. STEVE ALLEN
  14. It looks like you are on the right track, and like Barbo said, adding some detail to the walls will bring this dio closer to being done. When I did my first garage dio, I took several car mags and looked at the ads in there, they usually have great looking cars in smaller pictures. I cut them out and used 3M spray glue on the back of the pics and attached them to the walls. I probably went a "little" overboard with my pics on the walls, but it was my first dio also... Take a look at what some pics do for the dio as a whole.... I hope this helps you out.... STEVE ALLEN
  15. I like how that is coming together with good interior detail. When it's finished, I hope you put several good pics on here for us to enjoy I'm glad that you are enjoying the forum and welcome aboard. There IS alot of information to be gained here. STEVE ALLEN
  16. I think that pic should be in the "WIP" section and not "Under Glass" ( still needs some more work ) Just kidding... this pic came thru STEVE ALLEN
  17. Thank you for opening my eyes.... I didn't realize that there WAS a '69 Trans Am, but, with only 697 of them being produced it was easily overlooked on my part. Thanks again and I will be sure to pass this along to the guys at work. STEVE ALLEN
  18. WOW, those look like they would be alot of fun to "re-do". About 7 years ago, my parents brought over a box of my old models and said "Here, you have your own house now, you can store them here". Well, after opening them up, cleaning off the dust, I entered some of them in a model contest to see how I would do.... 1st and 3rd. That's what got me back into modeling after about 15 years of being out of it. I'm so glad that my parents had kept some of my old stuff Just the other week they brought a box of "Old LOVE letters" from when I was in HS. My wife got a kick out of reading some of those Anyway, I hope you have fun with your new find and keep on building... STEVE ALLEN
  19. While at work the other day, some guys were talking about cars, and one of them stated that Pontiac made a '69 Trans Am. I was thinking, they didn't come out with the Trans Am package until '73/'74 and didn't come out with the "bird" on the hood until '76/'77. Would this be correct (or close to it), or was there actually a Trans Am made in '69 ???? I know there is a lot of knowledge out there that would be able to answer this question, so any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.... STEVE ALLEN
  20. WOW, that is a beautiful truck. Did you open and hinge all the doors, or is that how it comes in the kit ?? I've always wanted to try my hand at a big rig, maybe someday, and I hope it turns out half as nice as this one. STEVE ALLEN
  21. scubadiver411

    68 Elky!

Great looking El Camino there Jeryd, and it's not even tubbed with big meats in back You do great work on whatever you build. The paint looks flawless and I like the tire combo on this car. STEVE ALLEN
  22. Sweet looking '57 That's a sharp color for that car. I can't wait to see it finished. STEVE ALLEN
  23. LOVE IT, LOVE IT, LOVE IT All three are a GREAT combination.... Love the stance, color combo, EVERYTHING about it Can't wait to see more. STEVE ALLEN
  24. O.K..... would that be MotorheadMiniatures.com or ExoticsBuilders.com ?? Where do we go to see these figures ???????????? STEVE ALLEN
  25. patrol52 has said quite abit and said it well. But, if you are wondering how something might react, you can always try the "spoon" trick. Just take a plastic spoon and spray it with the primer you choose, after drying, spray the color of your choice. This will use very little of the primer and the paint of your choice and leave you with plenty of paint for your modeling subject. This will also let you know if your paint and primer are compatible before painting the "real thing". STEVE ALLEN
