  1. Those are some really nice builds. You do really good work there Biggc.... I like the goat, but that Easter Egg really caught my attention STEVE ALLEN
  2. So, if everyone is complaining about the roof line, how about making convertables out of them ?? Is there a resin cast of a '70 Cuda convertable boot available ?? Also, did they ever make an AAR 'Cuda convertable ??
  3. Thanks fury3.... my mind is not were it's suppose to be right now (medical reasons)... but thank-you for pointing that out to me. That's what I like about this forum... people are a lot more respectful to everyone and not harsh. I did fix my post title..... STEVE ALLEN
  4. My mind is not were it should be right now... I have several MoPars that I have painted this summer to work on this winter and I got the wrong title for the right car... My Bad Here's one that I started right after my '70 Candy Tangerine Road Runner. This one is painted Red Metalflake. It's pretty much built box stock except for the tires and rims are from my parts box. I still have to detail the interior and the engine (pics coming soon). I hope you like this one, all comments welcome. Sorry about some of the pics. STEVE ALLEN
  5. That is looking SHARP I agree with everyone else (even about the other forum), it's your model, you build it how YOU want it. The wheels look great with this body style and color. The engine is killer, the wheels are stunning, the paint is flawless.... Keep up the great work. STEVE ALLEN
  6. Now THAT'S what I want for Christmas this year That is just incredible, I want one Thanks for sharing that one... STEVE ALLEN
  7. WOW... I can't wait to see this one built I'm a MoPar guy at heart, and I love the 'Cudas. I hope you will continually post updates on this one because I'd like to follow this build. STEVE ALLEN
  8. I am liking the color combo... I can't wait to see the rest of this when it's done. What are some of your other ideas for this one (wheels, engine...). STEVE ALLEN
  9. Applying BMF is a slow, tedious job, but the final result is well worth it. Once you get a sheet of BMF, you will need a ruler, sharp exacto blade (new), burnishing tool (q-tip, tooth pick). All you really need to do is cut strips of BMF just wider than the piece that you are going to cover. Place the BMF over the window frame, drip rail, etc... and burnish it down with a q-tip and then use the tooth pick to get the BMF into the tight spots along the edge. Make sure it is smooth and looks good, then use your exacto knife (at a 45 degree angle) to trim off the excess BMF. Just remember, BMF is like very, very, very thin tin foil and will rip or tear easily, so you need to handle it with care. I hope this helps, I'm sure other, more experienced modelers have different methods, but this should get you started. By the way, nice Monte... I was thinking of getting that model to replicate a friends Monte the he had back in High School. It was a little darker red with a black top and Crager SS rims. Someday I will get around to doing it. STEVE ALLEN
  10. Welcome to the forum, you will be a nice addition with the off-road models. I like what you have showed so far....got any more ?? I would like to know where the "MONSTER" decals came from, were they in a kit or did you make them ?? Anyway, welcome, and I can't wait to see more of your models in the future. Steve Allen
  11. Here are some outdoor pics in the sunlight Hope the sunlight makes the pics look better than my basement did STEVE ALLEN
  12. Thanks for the comments guys... and George... If I keep building them and trading them to you, I'll have a basement full of model buildings with no cars, and you'll have a ton of cars, but no buildings I'll keep you posted on the progress, all my kids are in school now so I have some peace and quiet to work on my models STEVE ALLEN
  13. WOW, I'm a big Jeff Gordon fan and I really like this car. I saw your album and you do great NASCAR models. It must take awhile to get these great looking cars done.... Got any Jimmie Johnson cars ?? STEVE
  14. Hey jeryd, that's why they AREN'T in the garage, 'cause they are built ford tough Now that you brought that to my attention, I'll probably have to cover it with a half-naked girl poster But, thanks for the compliments on the garage. I'm sure it will change a bit, I did this as a test shot to see how everything fit and looked. The primered Nova will be getting tubbed in the near future and since there is a metal axle that goes thru the engine compartment, I'll probably leave it on the jack stands, I might even put a coat of paint on the car to.... but haven't decided on a color yet. STEVE
  15. I was going to say "model" when I first looked at it because of the gas cap... Then I noticed the reflection in the hub caps and decided it could be real.... I'm going with "real model" STEVE
  16. Now THAT'S Eye Candy Great job on the paint, decals, details..... I could go on and on, but I like this car alot, got any more ?? STEVE
  17. Hey George, I think this garage was put together very well The only letter's that I'm not using on the front are the "BROTHER'S" and that will change to "MIDWEST". As for the sign on the inside, thanks for the tip, I just might have some plastic left over from the window covers that came with the garage Just have to straighten out the edges... I'm having fun with this garage, check out my photobucket under garages and you can see the boyz also in one of the pics, look thru the window closely STEVE
  18. Here's what I started with... Here it is with Candy Tangerine paint on it... Here it is on the chassis with the window and grill on, still have some work to do, such as wiring the engine, BMF the window trim, put the bumpers on.... so, it's almost done LOL Thanks for looking.... all comments welcome STEVE
  19. Here is my 2nd garage... it's almost complete, just took pics to see how it will look. I'm changing the name to "MIDWEST AUTO CENTER" that's why some letter's are missing. The blue Nova on the right is going to stay in the dio, it was a car given to me by a co-worker that built it as a kid a loooong time ago. I just repainted the interior and the chassis and changed the tires and rims. The black primer one in the middle is the same Nova that I just got a month ago, which is going thru an "update". The Camaro on the left is one I took out of my showcase just to fill in the garage. The final plan will be to have this on a 40inch X 20inch base with the Ford Louisville truck on the left side of the garage with boxes of supplies in it. On the right side will be some cars parked ready to be worked on. The motorcycles I got off of e-bay for $10 (for both) and fit with the "speed" theme of the shop. All comments and criticisms welcome, well, comments anyway Updated pics... 5-09 I just have to find some thin yellow tape for the lines around the Garage for parking... and glue the "MIDWEST AUTO" sign up on the Garage.... Thanks for looking... STEVE
  20. Hey Ken, you did a great job on weathering that truck It looks great... STEVE
  21. That looks really impressive I like the look and the stance of this truck. I think you did a great job.... STEVE
  22. Thanks for the info... I won't feel bad now if I use them to make storage boxes out of them to put under the box along the frame rails. STEVE
  23. I am building my first big truck and I am getting ready to paint the box.... On the parts tree there are two long thin pieces that are the lenth of the box and about an inch wide (part #137), there are also two shorter pieces that aren't quite the width of the box and about 1/2 inch wide (also part #137). Anyone know what these 4 pieces are used for ?? I can't find them on the instruction sheet anywhere and can't figure out where they could or should go.... Any help would be greatly appreciated on this. Thank-you... STEVE
  24. That is a really great team effort there It all looks perfect. I was 4 at the time, but I remember riding with my parents in the '71 impala (sitting on a wooden box booster seat) and waiting in the gas lines. Ahhh, the memories of the 'Good ole dayz STEVE
  25. I was wondering, do you tow them because they are broke down, or do you tow them because THEY are saving $$$$ on GAS STEVE
