  1. Slixx has decals for this car, but you have to paint the red stripe.
  2. Thanks to both of you. The Micro Nitro wheels look good. They didn't have those the last time I looked at their site.
  3. Does anyone sell the aluminum front wheels[ bicycle type] like the ones Machined Aluminum Specialties use to have? If anyone can help ,it will be greatly appreciated.
  4. Beautiful model! This car is one of my favorite race cars of all time. Every time I go through Darlington, I stop at the museum to look at the one there.
  5. This is from the July 1969 issue of Hot Rod Magazine.
  6. Looks great. Finish mine one of these days. Just checked out video of this car's blowover on You Tube.
  7. The new issue of Rodders Journal no. 62 has a great photo of the original Pure Hell altered. It is one of the best I've seen. You can see a lot of engine detail. I would scan it and post it, but it takes up two pages. It has a great photo of the Pure Heaven altered as well as several other great drag cars from the past.
  8. One of my favorite drag cars of all time.I saw this car race at Blaney Drag Strip when I was 12 yrs. old
  9. I built this model using the Model King reissue of the kit. I modified the chassis and interior for a better fit. Detailed the kit engine. Scratch built front end with posable steering. Air dam made from aluminum. Paint is Tamiya Mica Red on top of Tamiya Yellow. Tamiya clear polished with polishing kit.
  10. The page I posted came from another site, but I do have the magazine it came from and it's in storage right now. It was Hot Rod magazine, probably a 1969 issue, don't remember the month.
  11. I'm working on a model of this car. This helped a lot.
  12. Most of these AMT funny car kits had one thing in common. The interior tub is too narrow. This makes it difficult to get the body to fit properly. The solution is to put strips of plastic along both sides of the top of the tub. You'll have to experiment with the thickness of the strips. I also used sheet styrene attached to the chassis too widen the floor and to extend the trunk floor.
  13. I built this model from the AMT Rat Packer kit.The chassis and interior were modified for a better fit. The engine is from the kit with a Comp, Resins blower and blower hat. Front end was scratch built with posable steering. Wheeelie bars were made from aluminum, wheels from plastic sprue. Rear wheels and tires are MPC. Fronts are Polar Lights. Paint is Testors One Coat Lacquer, Purplelicious and silver. Clear is Testors enamel polished with polishing kit.
  14. My bad. It looked different before I posted it. THANKS
  15. I hope someone can help me with this. When I put photos on a post from photo bucket they appear as close ups. What am I doing wrong?
  16. I joined the forum right before it shut down. Just discovered it was back on. Glad you're back. I am 56 yrs old and have been building model cars off and on for most of my life. My primary modeling interest is drag cars, but I also like vintage Nascar, customs, hot rods, and pro street. I am looking forward to learning and sharing with everyone on the forum.
  17. I am about to start working on a model of Jungle Jim's 66 Nova iongnose funny car. I have some pretty good ref. photos, but I have questions about two areas of the car. First, is the interior.Ican't tell much about the front part of it from the photos except that there is no dash. Was the steering wheel/column attached to the roll cage? The other mystery is the rear suspension. Did it have leaf springs or some kind of coil spring setup. From what I have read, I know that Jungle built the chassis himself along with the rest of the car. From the photos I can also tell that it had dropped axle w/a single leaf spring in the front. Iplan to use a modified 66 Nova prostreet chassis. If anyone has any knowledge about this car I would really appreciate the help.
