2nd Annual 24 HOUR BUILD, Jan. 19 & 20, 2008
You know what a 24 hour build is! Start on your model at 12:00 noon on Saturday and finish it at 12:00 noon on Sunday. We're the 5 crazy guys that did this last January and we're back for more.
Again, due to limited space, only the 5 modelers from the North Central West Virginia Scale Modelers who did this last year will be meeting at my place to do this again, but wait!!!! .... we have a second group from the club that will be meeting at the same time at another members house. As details on this group come available I'll let you know.
The Builders and their cars:
Gary Kulchock ..... building a Tamiya Alpine Renault A442B Turbo kit. Modifications will change this kit to the A442A #4 car as run in Lemans in 78. This will be accomplished by using the Studio 27 Decals . Eduard photo-etch seatbelts and other misc. details will enhance this build.
Chip Wamsley ..... building the Renault A210, 1966 Le Mans car, model by Heller. It has a full engine with soft rubber wiring. I will probably use some bare metal foil around the windows and Model Car Garage gauges with Replicas and Miniatures wizard "O"s for bezels. The decals are a lot less complex than the BASF BMW M1 from last year!
John Brolin ..... building a 1/24 Castrol Toyota Tom's Supra GT.
Jeff Christopher ..... ?
George Schmezer ..... ?
The 2nd group will be having their build at the home of Bobby Boggs, "The Mad Modeller"

Bobby Boggs ..... Toyota Castrol Celica GT-Four, '93 Monte Carlo Rally Winner
Builder? .....
Builder? .....
Rules, same as last year: Start with a new kit. 4 parts may be glued to the body ahead of time to get a head start on the body painting process. That's it. The use of all after market materials are allowed.
So ....... watch this site starting Saturday Jan. 19, starting about 11:30 AM for pre-race photos. Photos will be added during the following 24+ hours to show the progress (or lack of progress) up untill the final results on Sunday.
Please send in your comments during the build, (or whenever) to show your support of the build. If this goes well, we may just promote this as a national event. Who's up for it?
