  1. Me too. I thought the first shot of the finished car was a 1:1 reference shot of something you were shooting for, good job Matt! I love that '61 body style.
  2. that does look better JC, you should be good to go.
  3. Looks nice Joe, that pool looks awesome! Lucky you.
  4. Stuff is almost like rubber. Nice builds on Facebook Shane.
  5. Mike, thanks for the info and sku number. The Autozone near me has those in stock. So, is the BCL0125 an Acrylic Lacquer? And, what's the difference between it, and , the BCL1695, does anyone know?
  6. This SS is gonna be beauteous Jim!
  7. That Metallic Black fits this car sooooooooooooooooooooo well.
  8. Cool, I'm glad you're staying with this car.
  9. Hey Rob, Unfortunately there is only 'one' Pep Boys store in the whole four state area that surrounds where I'm at, and it is 3 hrs away, bummer.
  10. Tim, that is one bad az Chevelle, beautiful in black.
  11. Bill B., There are no Meijer stores in this area that I know of. I have three auto parts chains within a mile of my house; O'reilly's, Autozone, and, Advance Auto Parts. I typically go to O'reilly's because it's the closest, I'll check the others for the 'Perfect Match' clear, one of them should have it in stock, I hope. Thanks to everyone for all the help!
  12. Some nice looking finishes in this thread! And some great info!
  13. Bill, (Ace) , they didn't have the 'Perfect Match' clear at the O'reilly where I've been buying my Dupli-Color auto paint, soooooooo , I thought the stuff I got was all they (Dupli-Color) had. I'll have to change auto parts stores and look for the ' Perfect Match' clear, which 'is' what I wanted to begin with, thanks. James, whats the drying time on that Acrylic Enamel?
  14. Thanks Frank. I've had good luck with Dupli-Color, just not this clear.
  15. James, is that stuff good over lacquers, like Tamiya, and , I hope it works over Dupli-Color 'Match Color' paints?
  16. Bill, the humidity was high when I applied the stuff, but , that was 4 days ago, and , since then the body has been inside my air conditioned home. So, you've used it before with success? I love Dupli-Color paints and am disappointed about this outcome. I'm tired of paying $7 for a 3oz can of Tamiya Clear! LOL! Yikes!
  17. I applied this stuff 4-5 days ago over some Dupli-Color Color Match paint and it never did feel completely smooth (slick) to me, it was glossy but felt like a thin rubber coating to the touch. I wanted to show it to a friend today and wrapped it in some toilet paper so it wouldn't get scratched, upon arrival and taking it out of the box there were paper fibers all over it, so , I washed it off. For the journey back home i wrapped it in a paper towel and found upon my arrival there that the 'basket weave' pattern of the paper towel had attached itself to the surface along with more paper fibers. That was it, the body is in an alcohol bath. Does this stuff ever dry hard? If so, how long does it take? I've never used this stuff before, and , at this point I'll 'never' use it again.
  18. I was referring to a specific 'seam, or , mold line' after it has been scraped with the back of an X-Acto blade, not the model as a whole
  19. The X-Acto knife will become your best friend. You may know this, but , you can also use the back side of the blade for removing mold seams. Once you get the really rough stuff removed, (the sharp part of the blade can get a lot of that, just be careful) , then you can use the back side of the blade to scrape it smooth. It may still need a little sanding, just depends. The key is going slowly. My knife (s) have become my most useful tool. That is a beautiful body style.
  20. , Dice job Joe. Paint job looks great Did you use a sharpie for the silver dots? I'm working on this kit at present.
  21. Looks great in purple. I'm working on this kit right now, did you encounter any problems?
  22. That's very cool Andy, nice work on the modifications. I bet that thing could scoot around the track with no problem. Looks really mean from the front, love that shot. How long did you spend on this build?
  23. Beautiful Al, I love that color. Nice work on the whole save. I had a ride once in a '68 Futura with a modified Hi-Po 289, that car was wicked!
