  1. I thought I was in the final stages of getting this one together until I put the tub/chassis up into the body, it doesn't sit square. One side of the tub won't go up all the way to meet the top of the door. It actually looks like that the drivers side of the tub, starting with that corner of the dash and running almost all the way back is higher. And this is after all the prep work I did on the tub initially. It looks like to me this will require more prepping, which means I might as well take the tub off and take all the interior stuff out, do the work and repaint the tub. Any thoughts are welcome.
  2. Cliff, your Vette looks awesome. Revelle did a nice job too.
  3. that looks cool, like that body style.
  4. David, did the humidity drop?
  5. That color is awesome Carl! The way you used colors on the whole car is nice, very clean and true to life. Nice job on the wheels too!
  6. Great looking car Steve
  7. There were no true fitment issues. Make certain you hog out the front clip stays on the hood. The hood on mine is rather tough but it fits well when down but I had to hog out the parts that glue to the underside a bit to make it transition. There are also very few places to glue the chassis to the body so make sure those are free of paint when you cement them as they are the only anchor points. Thanks for noticing the seats as well. I masked them with BMF and then had to touch up a bit anyway. Using two different paints allowed this. I used Duplicolor enamel for the white and then Tamiya for the stripes. This way i was able to clean up goblins with a little ammonia without affecting the white till I got it just right. Bob, what do you mean by 'hog out? I didn't know you could use amonia to clean up Tamiya paint, was it acrylic?
  8. What a great idea for a build, and that Capri kit! I'll be watching.
  9. I'll be following along as this ('68) is one of my favorite cars of all time. I still remember the first time I saw one on the street as a kid. The Roadrunners were game changers.
  10. Gerry, Copper and black sound like great color choices for this car. I'll be following along! Thanks for the detailed build so far.
  11. Thanks you guys! Brett, thanks for the pic, that color looks great. It looks pretty much like Testors flat black enamel to me.
  12. Hi Ace, thanks for the reply. I hadn't thought of flat black.
  13. Hi all, These wheels are from the AMT Mustang Funny Car kit that was recently re-issued. Which type of 1:1 wheels are they supposed to represent? There is a molded in texture on the spokes that I'm taking to mean they should be painted (?) If so a shade of gray? Thanks.
  14. Real nice work Jeff. That second shot is killer.
  15. Nice looking cars Tom. Was the engine in the white car different than the other two?
  16. Really like the colors and finishes you're using on this Eric, nice clean build as well. Purple engine, and , silver interior, yes!
  17. Nice job Jericho, it looks pretty convincing.
  18. Nice looking Rambler!
  19. Steve, I think it looks great, and , after what you went through to get it finished, ( I can relate, and, had to laugh at the photo area mishap) , good job! That purple just looks awesome on that truck, what color is that? The wood looks great too. I'm with DeeCee on the front white walls, that would really make it pop, even more than it already does. Nice job!
  20. " Pleasant, easy build " does not describe the Prostreet kit. If I were a masochist maybe.
  21. Get some plastic spoons and test. The darker the primer the darker the Light Blue Pearl will be. As Dave mentioned you can also use a color, (gold, silver etc,..) between the primer and color coat. Also with every additional color coat the color will darken somewhat. I love testing new colors, it's the only way you know for sure what you're going to get.
  22. I've been working on the '66 Nova Pro-Street kit for a couple of weeks now, not quite what I was hoping for as far as being problem free 'cause it sure ain't that! This kit will either make a modeler out of you, or , you'll quit the hobby. I guess you could also settle for a glue bomb, that sits eternally in the box. I'm not caving!
  23. Looking good.
