That's one hot wagon! Love the color and all the details. How did you get the surface rust look on the exhaust system, what colors and steps did you take to achieve that look?
Small update. Just finished detailing the dashboard. (all that's left is the steering wheel) also finished the center console. I was thinking of carpeting the tub but i will just leave it as is.
Thanks for looking!
Did a little Mock up and it seems like the front wheels need to be adjusted a bit. Started polishing the hood and also finished detailing the door panels.
Thank you!
I cleared the body and now to wait for a couple of days to start polishing it. Mean while I'll start working on the interior. Here are some pics.
Thank you! Yes Ive used AutoAir paints before, they spray fairly well as long that you follow the mixing ratio on the bottle and i usually spray it at 35 psi but being water base i usually use the blow drier between coats so it wont run. this is the first time i used transparent and it was very watery and somewhat difficult to spray ( maybe it was the weather) . just took my time and used the blower a lot.
Still working on the warped body, it's getting there. I had some time to spray some gold and silver on some spoons and applied the transparent green. I think I'll be using the gold base coat.
Thanks!!
So far i started painting the engine and some suspension parts and also started removing flash and looking for imperfections on the body. The body is twisted so hopefully I'll be able to straighten it out. The last 3 models I have started have given me nothing but headaches with warped or twisted frames or bodies . Well here are some pics. Thanks for looking!
I want to start by wishing everybody a happy new year!
New year new projects. Last year I only completed one model and it didn't turn out the way I pictured it. This year I intend to start and finish more than one so in order to do that I'm going to have to do things a different way and work on more than one model at a time. Here is my new w.i.p. The color I'll be using on this one will be Auto Air transparent green so it will have either a silver base coat or gold base coat (maybe both?) So far I got rid of the molded in mesh grill and next to spray some primer and see what imperfections i have to deal with. Thanks for looking!
still working on this one slowly. I had a little issue on the front bumper and after i finished all the body work on it, I messed it up while dry fitting the fog lights . So while I continue working on the front bumper I also did some under the hood trying to cover some of the mold marks. I also started on the interior and put some embossing powder to simulate carpeting. its not perfect but it will hardly be visible. Thanks for looking.
I started on a bit of body work. Most of the mold lines have been taken care of, and also the hood wouldn't sit flush so i had to bent it a bit here and there till it laid like it should.I also made the kit wheels black chrome by decanting some gloss clear and mixing a couple of drops of black paint. And the chassis is about 80% done. Thanks for looking!
