  1. Thanks for the kudos gents. Bill, the original D50 was made in 1/24 kit form by Merit (long outta production as are all the 1/24 bodies!). Patrick
  2. Curt, I won't be at the NNL this weekend. I made plans to be in Arizona long before the date for the NNL was changed. Now, I've missed two NNL/Wests. UGH! I bought one of the CDs from you 3 years ago! Mike's mag was the best and the CD is a great reference! Let me know of may other shows coming up near our end of the universe. Patrick
  3. I've been working on this... Moving along and ready for the body paint. I'm still stymied by the need for 13" tires, the wheels are good. Rossa156 Patrick
  4. I bashed this from an old MRC Lancia-Ferrari slotcar body... and here's the 1956 D50 next to the typo801... The yellow car was "brush" painted (from the team car red) the night before the race for Pilette to race in national colors. Rossa156
  5. I have had this model close to being finished for 4 years and I finally decided to finish it. This is how it sat .. The D50 Lancia and the 801 Ferrari were direct relations. Rossa156
  6. Very nice Kurtis-Ferrari. I never thought of using the Maser engine and 365 Ferrari cam covers! Great solution. Rossa156
  7. We are contivo on the photos, Dave. Patrick
  8. Dave, You did a great job in converting the Loti. The paint schemes look very 50-ish, too. Nice stuff my friend. Patyrick
  9. I still have body shape issues and the interior fuel tank fabrication, but it is looking pretty good. The cost of an ABC 1/12 resin kit of a 158 is $200. Mycost so far is $10 and I'm having more satisfaction because it is all mine! Still a ways to go... Patrick
  10. So, here's the 1/24 and 1/12 scale versions side by side for comparison... I continued by fixing the interior to fit the monocoque... the rear suspension used part of the 312B and the Honda... That's all I'm allowed... The Ferrar-worth, that's a mix of Ferrari and Cosworth involved cutting the heads off and turning them around... I then cut away part of the heads to have the cam covers at the correct angles... The Honda transaxle had webbing so I attached some Evergreen rod for the strengthing webs... and added some spare parts to better shape the car's transaxle.
  11. This is something I started after I bought a Hong Kong toy off of EvilBay. I thought I was buying a 1/24 clone of the Cox slot body and when the package was opened I found out it was a Cox-clone in 1/12 scale. I started to collect 1/12 scale parts by receiving a Tamiya Honda RA300 and a Ferrari 312B, both glue bombs. I also received a Cosworth Ford engine from some Tamiya source, Armed with these parts I began to do some cutting and putty work... I first used the Honda frunt suspension/... but opted for the 312B front suspension... Patrick To be continued... Patrick
  12. Hi Ed. I love to see this flat-12 varient being made. I wish I saw them on Ebay. Patrick
  13. Excellent build. I like the engine bay metallics, very clean. Patrick
  14. Lovely! Truly a beauty! Patrick
  15. Very nice Shelby Team car! I saw this one racing with Titus at the wheel back in '67 at Crow's Landing near Modesto, California. It was an old naval air field out in the sticks, no-wheresville! But, AH, the racing was great especially the '67 Cougars of Gurney. Thanks for the great memories. I'm a racer at heart and would rather see the 'stang with meatballs and numbers! Patrick
  16. An Austin America????? I owned an MG 1100 and two Minis, an Austin sedan and a Morris Traveller. I've only see an Airfix 1/32 MG 1100 4-door ever made. I really like to see your Austin America. Patrick
  17. Love it! Thanks for posting your work. Patrick
  18. Great build. Did the kit come with a cross flow manifold? Patrick
  19. The Academy/Sunny 275LM is another old slot car body turned to static model by a model company. It is pretty good in shape and lends itself well to adaptation to a Drogo long nose version. I have 3 of them in my collection. Patrick
  20. I coulda sworn I posted on your great TF Cobra. I wish Revell would re-issue their slot car body!! Their 1/24 Cobra and GTO are pretty good. The Cobra more so as the GTO is a bit shallow in the height. I did a static GTO, a very long time ago, and next to the Testors car that I also built one can see the shallowness. Clearly the slot car bodies of the 60s and 70s are not too bad., but not perfect. The Cobra is the closest. Patrick
  21. Joao, Excellent and very clean build. The P-series cars are some of my favorites Ferraris. I'm partial to the P3, but your P4 is sweet. Patrick
  22. The detail work on your Le Mans Mustang is superb. Excellent choice! Patrick
  23. I have built the 1/24 Hasegawa version and love it! I also used a Hasegawa kit to scratch-bash a 1/24 RA271, the first Honda GP car, from an old LS kit a friend gave me. I'm a big fan of the 1.5 Liter years in F1. I've made nearly every F1 in the 1960s. Now if I could get a 3-Liter RA 273...wow! Patrick
  24. "Per la Ferrari permitto solamente per olio Shell," Enzo Ferrari

  25. Definitely do one with the fender painted and with 3 numeral number. Sorta like the attached car...
