  1. That was what I had thought, but wanted to make sure. Thanks. Russ
  2. Looking at modeling a real car that a friend of mine had in high school. going to have to use a resin body. His car had major quarter panel damage on one side. Can resin be worked with to show damage or would I need to cut out the area and use sheet plastic? Thanks, Russ
  3. Thanks. Yeah, that is my main concern. Maybe I can find something that is close. Russ
  4. Thanks. Just something else to modify. Russ
  5. Thanks, guys. I have never worked with resin before, but I guess there is always a first time. My best friend had a 63 in high school and I want to build one for his birthday next summer. Does anyone know if the 65 still had the pushbutton transmission? Hopefully I can pick one of those up soon. Russ
  6. Friend of mine from a long time ago. Not sure if he is still building models, I know last time I talked to him he was heavy into fantasy sports. thanks, Russ
  7. Thanks. Not sure if a 65 is close enough to a 63 but I will check it out. Russ
  8. Anyone know if this has ever been done? thanks, Russ
  9. You guys are evil. I preordered 3 of these. My wife asked why 3 of the same kit? I told her I had wanted 6, but I compromised. Russ
  10. Great tip! One question though. Will the tape hold the flocking over a long period of time, say years? Thanks, Russ
  11. Joe, I just went there this afternoon. Well worth the short trip. I hadn't really planned on buying much, ended up buying two kits and a bunch of other stuff. Not car related, but they have a 1/350 USS Independence WWII carrier. This is the ship my grandfather served on in WWII and I had no idea there was such a large scale kit of it. $130, couldn't get it today, but I plan on getting one asap. Thanks, Russ
  12. I vote for pinning this one. I also bookmarked it so if it disappears again I can find it right away. Russ
  13. Sorry to come in so late to the party, but I am looking for acrylic airbrush ready primers. Do you have any brands in mind? Edit- I just found the Vallejo primer on Amazon. Are there any better brands? Thanks, Russ
  14. Joe, Are you talking about the Boardman HobbyTown, or is there another hobby shop I don't know about there? I really miss John's Hobby Shop in Mansfield, would like to find something similar(not a chain) close by. Thanks, Russ
  15. Thanks again, all. That SVASM sounds really promising. Sharon isn't too far away, like what, 18 miles? Much closer than Cleveland. Plus they meet at a time that actually works for me. I'm going to check them out in January, I don't want my first meeting to be at their Christmas party.
  16. Thanks, all. I used to spend way too much time on rec.models.scale in case anyone here was there. I know Art Anderson was there. :-) Been several years now since I have been there much, they are pretty much all air and armor these days. Jeff, are you a member of any clubs around here? I am thinking it would be a good idea for me to join one. Russ
  17. Hi. My name is Russ. 54 years old. Currently am an unemployed :-( RF Electronic technician. Just started to build models again after a few years off. Still need to work on the basics, I tend to want to rush and just build the darn thing. Just like when I was a kid. :-) But I am getting better. :-) But nothing I build is ready for the public at this point. I tend to build models that I built as a kid. It's a good thing that lots of them have been reissued. I can't afford the originals. Have an airbrush, and I just finally bought a compressor. Need to start using it. Always used spray cans in the past. I just hope that this time around I don't get burnt out. I really do enjoy this stuff. Good to be here.
