  1. Neat! Having owned the 1:1 version (1988 4WS prelude), they were rather fun to drive. Too bad the body rotted away before the drivetrain died!
  2. I love the weathered duster! Seems I have seen a few dusters in 1:1 with the same side stripe cracking. Perfect!
  3. Very cool! I like it because it's not something you see every day.
  4. http://www.flickr.com/photos/shadzshutter/9381062066/ I shot this at my local car show this summer. Not sure if it helps with the color or not.
  5. Neat idea on the rusty vette. You asked about the front wheels. IMO i'd rust them up to fit the rest of the exterior weathering. They just seem "off" from the rest of the car.
  6. Very impressive! Great photography skills too.
  7. Nice looking build! I like seeing models from the 70's that weren't muscle cars (not that I don't enjoy musclecars)! Crazyjim, I'd love to see the delivery version!
  8. Very cool! I'll be waiting to see progress shots.
  9. I acquired this model from someone that previously started it. All that was done was the roof was chopped...everything else was still on the trees. I started putting it together last week. Everything is going smooth so far. Just working on finishing the body/paint now and all the little finishing touches that go along with it. Hopefully it'll be done next week for some real photos!
  10. Love it! Great looking bike too! I need more cycle models!
  11. I won't mention any names but I have heard it from 2 people. The first is a valid source. The second...well, my wife heard it from an employee that stated her job would be gone after the first of the year. I guess time will tell.
  12. I hear ya on the blackwash. I have done that before back about 10 years ago but i cant remember the formula. Matter of fact, I think I just sorta mixed some black with some thinner and it looked ok. Do you guys have a good mixture to share for the blackwash? BTW: I only use Testors for right now....I live 15 minutes from the place! Also as a sidenote...rumor has it thatTestors will be no more after the first of the year. Another company is taking over. I'm guessing they will retain the same product but under a different name. I should also try the Future floor polish trick on it too since there is no clearcoat on the paint. Or maybe I could fine sand...na, scratch that idea! I'll mess it up!
  13. I just joined a few days ago. I pulled out this last completed model I built 2 years ago. I also like playing with the camera so I snapped a few shots of it. I'm not one to go super deep into detail but I was fairly happy when this one was finished. Don't mind the dust, It's very dusty in my place. I'm also open to any flaws you can point out....it helps me focus on my weak points. http://flic.kr/p/i4Hw6P http://flic.kr/p/i4GVhJ http://flic.kr/p/i4GRS5 http://flic.kr/p/i4Hu6X
  14. Howdy! I'm "Badfish". I'm a 39 year old child from the corn-land of Illinois. I have been building models since I was old enough to open a tube of Testors glue. Keep in mind there have been huge gaps in the later years since kids, job, house, bills, motorcycle projects, and even 1:1 car repairs sometimes get in the way of the things we love to do in our spare time. I'm no model master by any means....but I do enjoy it when I'm happy with a model comes together nicely. Lot's of great info within the pages here! And also a lot of talent!
