Finished! I'll take a full photo set tomorrow when I have some natural light. But here is the preview! Here is it next to a Saleen S351 I just wrapped up as well, dont know if I will post that build or not. -

Revell Integra Type R (Kit Restoration)

I would love to see a reissue! It's sad to see kits I know I had a few of a long time ago go for ridiculously high costs because there are fewer and fewer popping up for sale. I got lucky and scored a minty fresh kit alongside this pre-wrecked kit from a member on another forum, otherwise eBay would have eaten my hobby budget for that month. haha Thanks man! It's a great build to be honest, no fitment issues at all even. -
Looks good! These kits just SCREAM 1980's lol

Yup, I found the thinnest piece of tree I could find, clipped it to a reasonable size, put a piece of tape on it and secured it in the dremel on its lowest setting for an even taper on both ends. I got a little bit of work done to show yesterday, mainly it was cleaning the old paint and Oven Cleaner off of the majority of parts. Then of course primer and the first stage of paint. Mocked up the steering wheel and shifter to see how it fit. I ended up cutting the steering column down a little more for a better fit. Engine stripped, and I stole some things from another build of mine. Model Meister again on the resins. That intercooler had really odd shaped inlets/outlets so I clipped them down a bit and gave them more roundness. Also trimmed down the tip of the chassis to get it into position. I had a friend of mine ask how I sprayed small parts after they have been clipped, and so I took this pic for anyone interested. I simply tack the flat side of a toothpick to them with a drop of super glue. Wheels painted, the coldside of the turbo for a little teaser, opened the foglight holes, and I leave you with its final stance. Thanks again for looking! And thanks for all the great comments guys!

Thanks everyone! This kit is SUPER limited parts wise, so i'm trying to add little extra touches where I can. 90% of things are in the paint/primer stripping containers until tomorrow afternoon, so here is some interior stuffs. Extended shift knob, and Model Meister wheel. Thanks for looking!

Yup, the black tree is SUPER thick from an Italeri kit I think, and then just some of the standard stuff.

Hello everyone! I picked up this kit as a partially clipped and painted kit that was never finished. Sort of a restore, but its mostly just paint stripping and fixing the poor detail on the kit itself. I LOVE the 2.3L powered Mustangs just because of it severe underdog situation when compared directly to the 5.0L. This build is getting a custom manifold, turbo, intercooler and plumping. Aiming for a sleeper of a street car with a lot of extra details. First order of business was relieving this kit of its 4x4 status. The rear was easy, just clipped down the "spring" posts on the rear axel and make a little extra clearance on the chassis for the wheels to clear. Had to raise the front cross-member up about 1mm to get any significant drop. Was also able to shave some embelishment off of the cross-member section attached to the chassis to get about .3 of a mm. Angled the engine a little bit, but nothing crazy. The exhaust system on this kit was completely lame. So here are the various stages I have so far of my upgrading. Little comparison. Thanks for looking guys, hopefully more updates soon.

I believe it was an eBay seller named BuildNBash. It was like 8 seats for $5-6. -

Sorry for the multiple posts everyone, only allowed 10 images each. Anyway, I snagged an engine from another kit I had and got to work on the bay. The kit stock intake was crazy tacky and not very realistic, so I built one of my own out of some sprue and a resin K&N filter. and together Thanks for looking everyone! -

And the paint stripping began! I use Easy Off oven cleaning and sealed containers to soak things for 24 hour increments. The first 24 hours wasn't nearly enough. 48 hours later... Picked up some new resin seats for this thing and did a little mock-up FINALLY! Some paint. Finishing interior touch. -
Hey guys, figured i'd share this little journey with everyone. I was on the hunt for one of these kits for some time, but given their age and rarity finding one for a decent price can be a challenge. I built 2 when I was in the early teens, or shall I say "ruined" so I thought buying a built kit and restoring it would be more redeeming. When I first got it, I was a little overwhelmed on how bad it was... But I separated and organized all the parts I would be keeping and got started. Thick brushed on paint. Body paint is surprisingly OK, but the decals were peeling badly.

Last night was spent prepping the body and applying primer. Then I spent the afternoon today doing paint work. I'm not sure if this kits decals are particularly crappy or if this set have just aged badly, but the Engine Cover side sections fell apart coming off of the paper. So I just masked and painted them gunmetal. That's all I have for now. Thanks for looking and stay tuned! -

I test fit the interior in preparation for paint and assembly. I clipped and reposition the little shifter switch to more replicate the real deal. This kit is a bit skimpy on the details. Test fit the engine chassis assembly. -

Alright guys, been a while since i've updated this build, but here is everything you've been missing. I finished up the engine details and applied decals. Finished up the front suspension/breaks. I did apply the Ferrari centercap decals, but I forgot decals do not stick to dullcoat. I may just paint the centers yellow. :-/ One of the more tragic pieces in this kit are the exhaust tips. I drilled them out and painted them to look more like the real car's. -
I have one of these kits, cant wait to get started! Great work as well, keep it up.

Got some more work done. After Oscar suggested the test fit I decided to go back and tackle the fitment issue and move forward on this project a little. Well, it was warped pretty bad. After almost an hour of sanding It still wouldn't fit. So I had to cut a relief hole. :-/ In other news though, LOOK WHAT FINALLY ARRIVED!! Not bad for $4.39 So of course, that meant I could do this. And while that was drying, I started the last components to be hand painted. Thanks for looking, stay tuned! -

Work is going slow... I'm waiting on a set of fine detail brushes I ordered to arrive, and apparently they got mailed via Burro-Post. But, i painted the throttle bodies and intake plenums. And I attached the bracing/intake manifold to the drive-line. Thanks for looking, stay tuned. -
I recently acquired one of these kits, but it was NOWHERE near as poorly made. Even came with an extra set of tires. It's really unfortunately to see quality control like this.
