  1. Hi...whats your favorite scene or theme? when building a diorama......My favorite scenes are Restaurants,Fast-Foods and Stores, not too much Gas Stations and workshops. For themes I like to do Raceways, actual and existing structures that are part of history.......Barbo.
  2. Nice ..diorama Carl..I like the weathering it looks wet and very muddy......Barbo
  3. Welcome....dptydawg. and thanks for posting your way of building dioramas . It is very interesting knowing how a modeler works it , whats important for me in planning and building a diorama maybe its not important for another model builder....but the final idea can almost be the same....Barbo.
  4. Hi........I am with you George...I do not criticize weathering , I respect model builders with the art of weathering . Its part of the realism in a great diorama , and it is not easy. For example war dioramas , train modeling and models for movies with special efects with out weathering , is like eating pancakes with out syrup, its a must......Barbo
  5. Hi..again , Jbwelda.......I can feel the thrill at watching the diorama....great efects..........Barbo
  6. Hi....Jbwelda...I like the diorama , it looks real, thats the idea...cool......Barbo
  7. Same happens to me.. George ,,I do not do ''weathering'' I also like them neat and clean .I know that this has cause me not to win in many events , but, I do my dioramas for fun, not for competing , and this is what makes a hobby special. Win or not, fun is all about it........Barbo.
  8. Hi... Every model builder has its way of building dioramas.. In my case , when building a diorama with a structure, first I do research and a scale sketch, this helps me visualize the concept. And prevents me from buying non-needed materials and accesories. If the structure exists , I use photos . Also a preliminary cardboard model can make me decide any changes. If the diorama does not contain a structure so I do a free- hand drawing of my idea, list of materials and accesories starts the journey...What do you do before building a diorama ?.......Barbo
  9. Hi....Soonerolds..I think there was a problem with the photos , check it , and post again.......Miguel barbosa
  10. HI.......Kit Eastman....cool diorama , I like the boat , you do not see a boat every day in junker diorama..........Migual Barbosa.

  14. Hi...., our last Caribbean Scale Auto Expo '2006' was full of surprises , special guests, special and new exhibitors , etc etc. but our goal is to always have something new every year. So we had for the first time in any scale model event in Puerto Rico, a 1/64 diecast matchbox commemorative souvenir free for every competitor , thanks to Matchbox and Mcdonald's. This adds up to the event give away t-shirt of every year. Whats new for 2007 ?.....Thats a secret and a surprise...Miguel Barbosa. http://s123.photobucket.com/albums/o295/mb...atchbox2006.jpg

  19. Hi.......Dave Lindsay, yes I will be in San Diego , California from the 14th to 29th of July for vacation with my family ( a busy vacation) and during this date I will be again with the guys from the San Diego Model car Club , at the Buena Vista Kit Collectors Expo the 22nd and ComicCon the 27th. I was asking for the SoCal event , because it appears in the Model Cars anual events issue of 2004, and did not find information.Thank you, Thats great , I can also go to the ''Western Scale Classic''. About GSL for the month of May , I was again invited by Mr. Mark Gustavson to present another seminar as I did in 2005 , after I accepted I had to cancel my visit , because I will be participating in a special event with Lowrider Magazine in May . Lowrider Magzine is one of or great sponsors of our ''5th Caribbean Scale Auto Expo'' 2007. Will you be at the ''Western Scale Classic'' .thanks again for your help........Miguel Barbosa.
  20. George.....perhaps you did not understand what I meant about adding figures to the diorama. I was not talking about all you dioramas , I was talking about the diorama that you said ''re-arranged'' the Street Scene Dec.2006. It does not have a figure in the exterior ...every modeler has the liberty to do whats best for him...sorry for my comment. I drink coffee 3 times a day ..its a ''Boricua'' tradition and will not change it for nothing...just having fun with my hobby............Miguel Barbosa.
  21. Hi....David Lindsay....I do not see the event promo for TamiyaCon , California for 2007 in ''socalcarculture'' If you have any details , please let me know..thankyou...Miguel Barbosa.
  22. Hi..to all ...does anyone have information about the ''SoCal Clasic'' and the ''San Diego Model Club'' event for 2007 they both are from California...thanks .....Miguel Barbosa.
  23. Hi ....Guys.....Thanks for your comments, the ford focus is a ''Rally'' ford Focus by Tamiya , I painted it as a normal street car.....Miguel Barbosa.
  24. Hi...George......I checked out your new diorama pics, it looks great . If you can , try to have a figure in you next diorama. The figures in a diorama helps the scale presentation and it adds life. I always have at least one or two figures in my dioramas . If you do so with this one , let me know and please send photos. You can also have a small dog or cat ,what ever you like...........Barbo.
