  1. Hi...zebm1...actually, I am not having years of weather in this diorama , it will be a new tire center , that just opened to the public. I am not a too much ''years weather model builder'' I like to see things neet. I understand otherwise that it would look better with years of weather. Thanks for you comments, ..........Barbo.
  2. Hi...as I said last time ,I am changing the concept model of the MPC Texaco Service Station to a Tire Center . I am almost done with the interiors , finished the back wall , finished the inside roof of the bathrooms and the closet, the counter , wheel exhibition and the inside tire rack. Now I will continue with the inside and outside accesories. I used the Sand Stone (concrete color) Fine Textured Decorative Finish spray by Rust Oleum ''American Accents'' for the front concrete street. It realy is more gray than it appears in th photo, and it actualy feels and looks like concrete......read me soon ....Barbo. http://s123.photobucket.com/albums/o295/mb4985/100_0832.jpg http://s123.photobucket.com/albums/o295/mb4985/100_0833.jpg http://s123.photobucket.com/albums/o295/mb4985/100_0837.jpg http://s123.photobucket.com/albums/o295/mb4985/100_0838.jpg http://s123.photobucket.com/albums/o295/mb4985/100_0840.jpg http://s123.photobucket.com/albums/o295/mb4985/100_0842.jpg

  7. Hi..........I am changing the MPC Texaco Service Station concept to "Barbo's Tire Center'' the side wall has two exterior doors (it must be for the men's and women restrooms) so I built the interior walls for the restrooms and extended a bit more for a small storage room. Now I have a vending area and the tire service area . Still more to come...Barbo.

  14. Hi....About the conversion factor to change mulepower to horsepower is made by the multiplication of 2 mules per horse ,but the problem is that the mule does not have the same power duration as the horse. WOW , it sounds true , well thats what my friend next door told me , he has great horses ...well I do not believe him anyway, so if anyone has a best conversion factor...is welcome........Barbo.
  15. Hi...Bill MacDonald ..Now thats a real old model . I advise you to prepare your self , if you ever decide to build the 10 Mule Team Kit . I got worned out by just painting 8 horses , 10 mules is alot of work. So take it easy and drink coffee every 2 hours.........barbo.
  16. Hi..Ismaelg...It is a 1/20 scale model kit and about 36'' long and 7'' tall once it is finished. Believe me , there is no date of production on the box or in the instructions..But I know its a short run collectible model......Barbo.
  17. Hi......Yes, they are polyfilm-self stickers . Believe me I stood two nights asking my self..build it or not . But I decided to build it . I know its a collectors item , but it will be anyway after it is done.....thanks for your comments..........Barbo.
  18. Hi....This is my new poject the ''The Budweiser Clydesdale'' plastic model kit by AMT.Its a great and easy model kit , but its a slow painting task for all 8 horses detalis. The only color dificult to find was the brown- terracota for the horses. The rest is almost done. Thanks for the model gift, my friend Luis Ayala...and for sure it will be a diorama....Barbo http://s123.photobucket.com/albums/o295/mb4985/100_0771.jpg http://s123.photobucket.com/albums/o295/mb4985/100_0772.jpg

  21. Hi...Bob Paeth.. My name is Miguel Barbosa from Puerto Rico ,I did attend last GSL Salt lake City event (2005) do you remember the Caribbean Scale Auto Expo promotion table, that was me. It was a great event and a great weekend. As you say , maybe not the biggest show , but one of the best I have participated. The museum is awsom , good vendors as well and best of the best models. I would say Its a very busy event . I am very exited to be there, Mr. Mark Gustavson has invited me again to present another diorama seminar, this next GSL. Hope to see you there and just have fun............Barbo.
  22. Yes ...George , except for the partial white walls of the station service area and gas pump are from the model kit gas station of mrc , interiors and all the rest is scratch built even the car service menue , its in spanish , photos taken from a real fast food..here in Puerto Rico. OH MY GOD , every time I enter your diorama page, makes me wonder , how can I have a diorama that big. All my dioramas (as i told you before) are almost the same size, it is better for me to storage and travel with them. Maybe one day I will put them all together on a big table and do somthing like yours , if I do so, I will send you a photo................Barbo.
