C'mon David......More details!!! Is that one of the older Monogram/Revell kits? You did a fabulous job on it as always!!!

Here's a couple close up's ot the tail light I scratch built....Kinda "Flash Gordon" style!!!

Here's my latest, and first build of '08!! I'll try to keep the chatter to a minimum......I went on a manic mission about 7-8 years ago to get every Revell 1/8 scale Triumph bike & trike made, and yes I did it!!! Of course I did what I said, and many extras too, along with many other Revell kits from that era. So now I have all these kits, but have never tried to build one, so it was time.....One big problem on these kits is the chrome, The chrome has vanished on almost every kit I have made in 1964-1969. I wanted to just build one, and find out how they went together, so I could take notes, and get a kit ready to re-plate, and do a nice custom box art build. Here is what I came up with, I did change a few things on this one, but it turned out ok, and now I know why most of these were either never built, or never finished....lol.

What else can be said.......It's BEAUTIFUL!!! That turned out fantastic Steve, and every single mod worked well. I really love that nailhead!!!

Paul......"The Corvette truck guy!!!!" I remember that one in the magazine!!! Way before the internet became the best way to share our passion (or obsession) Cool truck Paul!!! Oh, and yes I remember Plastic Fanatic, I had several builds in the very last issue!!!
-
Great old workhorse!!! It almost looks real, and a big block to boot!!! Perfect detail everywhere.
-
Another awesome Porsche David!!! Your work is absolutely stunning, now I have to go get one!!!
-
Another nice one Lyle!!! Made for a great diversion on the bench. This one would have been a good one to try the horizontal bar grille on.
-
Great job Kieth!!! Been watching this one all the way, and it works!!! I've seen a few bi-scale builds lately that have pretty kool too, they bring out the FUN side of modeling. Besides, what were you going to do with that old AMT Nomad anyway.....lol.
-
Lookin' pretty kool man!!!

Here's a pic I found, it's rough, but should give you an idea on the fuel lines....
-
Excellent build!!! You did a helluva job getting this one to look right!!!

Yes pinning is one of the best ways to get a strong attachment point. Also I use only Devcon 5 minute epoxy when doing all my final assemblies. Like Bob says, wait for a bit until the epoxy starts to set, then hold the part until it stays where you want it, the best part about epoxy is when is sets a few minutes, you can clean any excess glue off with a toothpick!!! A little practice, and use, and you will get the hang of how it works. Good luck!!!

Actually, I think Paul was seen looking at pink fingernail polish in the girlie isle awhile back.... It will be a cool project, and I love how you let your daughter get involved!!!
-
Ok, I gotta ask......Have you raced it against the Chevy Black Widow, and which was the faster? lol!!! No, this is a really cool idea, and you did an excellent job building it!!!
-
Yep, nothing wrong with a tri 5 chevy with 5 spokes!!! Very nice '56, and thanks for sharing it!!!
-
It's a totally awesome build, and the paint color is perfect, but I think it sits just a tad to high, but it still works. I guess the only real complaint is the roll bar, it's just to overpowering, I would have went with some polished aluminum rod, and made a smaller hoop for the driver. JMO.

Man, your into punishing yourself huh? LOL!!! I've been watching, and with every new idea you get the nicer the Jeep is!! This will be a pretty cool project with all the working features.

First off....Thanks for all the great replys!!! Like I said, this was a fun build, and a needed break from detailed builds!!! Steve.....The paint is Tamiya Candy green over Tamiya surface primer. Nothing fancy, just out of the can!!! This was my first try with using Tamiya paints, and it works pretty good, but I didn't like the way it sprayed out of the can, of course I didn't heat it up in warm water either, and was in a hurry. After putting on the decals, I cleared it with Dupont two part eurathane clear with an airbrush, no polishing was needed. I love this clear, as it never harms decals, but drys fast, and polishes like lacquers!!! If you are good enough with your airbrush, and apply it correctly, it flows out so nice and smooth, that polishing isn't really necessary, and it looks wet all the time. The only real drawback is that it is thick, and can really hamper assembly so be careful.

A set of Machined Aluminum Specialties wires, or 12 spokes would do the trick!!! I've also seen some nice resin 12 spokes that look pretty awesome too. But what ever you choose, it will look badd ass!!!
-
That is sooooooooooooo freekin' awesome Mike!!! Can't wait to see it finished!!!
-
Every time I see this bike, my jaw drops to the floor!!! I'm one that appreciates scale realism, and this build is so full of masterful craftsmanship, and great detailing!!! Amazing!!! Hmmmmm, "BikeModDave" sounds perfect.....lol.

Here's a few more..... Just a fun build altogether, not a lot of detail was added just plug wires, and a few decals from Slixx. So, counting this one, and (7) Revell choppers, (2) vintage AMT '32 Vickys, a mini bike chopper, the restoration of Monogram's Blue Beetle & Black widow P-up's, (5) 1/6 engine kits, (2) 1/4 engines, and several customer cars.....It was a great year for building!!! (Guess I need to quit telling my wife I never have enough time to build....lol)
-
Here is my final model of '07. I finished it up New Years eve (early of course) It may not spark many here, but it's a pretty cool reissue from the past, and another that would have never looked this good if I had built it back then either....lol.
