  1. All you can do is try. The worst they can say is no.
  2. Now that I have it, I'm almost scared to build it. This is the rarest kit I've ever had.
  3. I got the rear section roughed in. Still need some styrene filler pieces, then the putty, file, repeat deal.
  4. I cut the chassis', graphed the NASCAR rear section onto the Nomad. It's rough, I still need to cut some styrene filler pieces then start the putty, file, putty file game.
  5. Congrats on this too. You brought home hardware. Well done Tom.
  6. Congrats Tom. They all look first place.
  7. I can finally check this off my grail list.
  8. Here's our cat, her name is princess, I call her princess spastic. Here she is helping me on Cannonball entry. Here she is lookin at me like I'm crazy with the pile parts, wondering what heck, am I crazy.
  9. Figured I go ahead and do a build thread on my entry this year. It's a 56 Nomad with NASCAR suspension and a Ross Gibson twin turbo small block. I'm gonna use the front and rear section of the NASCAR chassis. First off to start I'm gonna fit the rear section. I had to open the wheel wells by about .125.
  10. I finally started cuttin on my entry. The first thing I'm gonna attempt is getting the NASCAR back half fitted to the Nomad. I had open the wheel wells about .125 to the rear. I'm gonna have to make the interior look like it was sectioned, which I guess is exactly what I'm doing. This gonna have to fool people with an, all show no go idea.
  11. Nice clean build. Paint looks great.
  12. Congratulations man on both. The wife and I are expecting our first baby, a boy, on June 18th. We too will be moving out of my in laws place.
  13. Thanks for the tip. I have a few builds in my head and stash that could use those.
  14. He's right up in the stones of steel. For those who haven't seen it, here's Felix Baumgartner. Space jump. http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=FHtvDA0W34I
  15. Neil Youngs Cinnamon Girl, covered by Type-O Negative. http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=BO9aD4mzSE8
  16. Very nice. I've always liked Ed Roth's cars. Job well done.
  17. Welcome to the board. Lots cool people, lots of knowledge.
  18. Looks great. I've thought buying a couple of these. Well done.
  19. It's a nice kit, take your time putting the sides together. They can be a bit tricky to get square all the way around. It also has a very nice decal set. Lots of decals for a complete unit.
  20. I have a few 1/64 die cast of his, signed, 1 of them double signed. Action makes an amazing die cast, but you definitely pay for them. I have 2 CSK funny cars, the Mountain Dew that was only raced in qualifing, I was there when Del blew the body off. The other is the CSK blue car, can't remember who drove at the time. I paid about 120 bucks for the both them from my local Kragen store. I want a few more Action cars, when funds can make that happen. So I'll build these, the best I can, try to do some detailing. They will look good on the shelf.
  21. Yep, I had no idea about this car. I knew early Bugetti's were rare, but I had no idea this rare. Best part they are still all in existence in collections. I'll probably end building mine as the late 40s rebuild, since thats what the kit is after.
