  1. I'm 32, I had a face book, way too much drama and B.S for me. This forum is much nicer, calmer and full of people with similar interest. I've heard of exchange-o-gram or whatever it's called. I don't have that kind of time, that and I drive truck for living. This forum is enough for me. For those who don't know the exchange o gram reference, it's from The Internship. http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=E7NRa2fH9kg
  2. Thanks Bruce. This a major build for me, seems more work than my usual custom truck builds. Once I started cuttin, I couldn't stop. Guess I just had to start sawin.
  3. I've been using Moebius rims and tires. Double Take resin offers a 255 22.5, low low pro tire. The Moebius tires are a 275 truck tire and look low pro on the revell snap kits. This snap KW has Moebius rims and mostly tires. The drive tires are the same size as Moebius but are from Class A resin.
  4. Looks good Rob. After all the cuttin and headaches getting the rear section on my build to fit right, I chose to do a keep it simple upgrade. Changed the front springs and a arms. You got some nice fabrication here. Great job so far.
  5. I think I just about have the suspension squared away. I ended up with sort of a hybrid set up. I used the kit disc brake lower, with NASCAR springs that I cut down some and the NASCAR tubular upper a arms.
  6. For the front suspension I chose to do a hybrid of sorts. I used the kit disc brake set up, with the NASCAR springs that I cut down to lower the front a little and upper a arms.
  7. Thanks Dale and Rob. I have today off so I'm sittin at my bench. I got the rear suspension close. I had to narrow the rear end and shave the hubs on the Pegasus rims. After I narrowed the rear end I drilled the axle and put axle pins in to help indicate everything.
  8. Thanks Bill and John Since u have the day off I thought I'd get some work on this done. Test fitting the rear end I discovered it to be way too wide. I narrowed the rear end by about 1/16", and shaved the hubs down on the Pegasus rims. I drilled the rear end and put an axle pin in to help indicate it all together.
  9. Welcome to the forum.
  10. That blanket looks pretty darned good. The Tranny is goon look great when you get it done. Like everything else, a real piece of art.
  11. Welcome to the forum and welcome back to modeling.
  12. Welcome to the forum.
  13. Final update for today. I got started on the power plant. Block and heads are glued. Tranny halves are together. Intake is assembled. Those are ready for a long soak in Westleys.
  14. The last thing I wanted to get to tonight is the engine. I started sanding and squaring up the surfaces. I got the block together, oil pan, heads and water pump assembly. The intake is put together, intake runners, throttle body and intake are glued. The tranny halves are also ready to get a bath in Westleys. After 24 hours or so I'll get some primer on the pieces.
  15. It is up there. I think the KW mixer takes king of the hill on prices. But this kit does go for a pretty penny like K100 kits.
  16. Continuing to plug away on this. I fitted the kit bumper mounts to the new rear section. I'll be doing some sheet styrene work on it to make a fuel cell. The top side of the fuel will be under a false floor, I'm unsure if I want hinge it so details can be seen or just leave it solid.
  17. It's lookin good so far. I remember fiddling around with the slider rails for the tandems.
  18. Did a little more cuttin. I got the rear bumper mount section graphed onto the NASCAR rear section. I'm gonna do a bit of sheet styrene work to make a fuel cell. For interior I'm torn if I'll make a false floor that hinges or if I'll leave solid. I'd like to do some fuel work, but has to be hidden. The while sleeper thing. That's what's makin this build so difficult.
  19. Man, I don't know how I missed the last update. It looks fantastic with the load of cars. I think that wagon on the front might put you over weight on your steers though. Just messing with ya, looks great man, well done.
  20. Congrats Rich. I think Peoples choice is better than Best of Show. Again, Congrats.
  21. Thanks man. It's taken me a few months to get over the anxiety I guess to get started on this. This is by far, the most involved build I've ever done. I started with a big pile of parts. This was about a month ago, I got a headache lookin at it all.
  22. I'm down here feeling down about 40 something degrees and rain. Guess I should be happy.
  23. Beautiful build. Looks fantastic. The paint, the foil work, the rag top, all of it came out looking awesome.
