  4. Hey now Clayton. Welcome man.
  5. Stretching is completely up to you and your shelf space. As far as wheels, Moebius has rim and tire sets. I switch out all of my revell truck builds for them. How to stretch you have the right idea. Here's a pic of how I did my snap KW. you also need to add some extra help in strengthening the frame. I used .03 sheet styrene cut as a smooth deck plate, extended past the joints of where the frame is stretched. I used some blank frame rail material I got from Rhino's Truck Parts. Then "sleeved" it using 5/16 channel. I usual build by eyeballing. Kinda the same as you, whatever feels and looks right. The KW is the first truck I actually measured, I stretched it to 305". My Prostar I eyeballed and it ended up around 270. I stretched it the same way as the KW. I just made sure it wasn't right next to a cross member. Your fine in posting your thoughts, questions and concerns here. We all do it. You made a nice choice for your first truck build. It's a nice easy kit. My only gripe is the lack of visor, Rhino's can help with that too, as well as stacks and a bumper. I've 2 snap Petes, 1 modified and 1 box stock. I'll post a pic if the modified. Good luck with your build. Feel free to ask questions.
  6. It's suppose to drop into the low 60s tomorrow with a chance a rain, here in So Cal. I think if they figured the wind chill here, if they know how, it might be in 50s, where's my parka.
  7. Good luck man. It's a nice kit. Just take your time, especially on the tires. The tires can be a bit tricky. Dispite this kits down falls and short comings, you made a good choice. Welcome to the dark side of model building.
  8. Terry has a Peter plane build using the Allison and the Jimmy Flintstone cab
  9. Thanks for the info. I hear ya on missing driving our hot rods. I miss driving through the grocery store parking lot, at about 1300 rpm and setting car alarms off. Good times.
  10. Dropped you a PM.
  11. That it is pretty cool Elky. Makin miss drivin my Camaro. I need to get started on it one of these days.
  12. Outstanding work man. Your attention to detail is bordering on insane, which is a good thing. Makin sure the casting ribs are proper, WOW. The Alclad came out awesome. How many coats did it take the Alclad to look so good?, before toned it down. 30, 40?
  13. Welcome to the forum and welcome to dark side of modeling, LOL.
  14. It dupli-color metal specs retro red. For spray paint, it's a bit pricey, 12 bucks at autozone.
  15. Yep, I'll get off at exit 263, something around that, on the 17, which is Camp Verde. I hope they get any winter weather. It's too close to Flagstaff.
  16. Now that's perty. I like that, dropped to mid 60s. I'm headed up to Clarkdale, Az on monday then reloading at a rock pit off out in the middle of nothin between Wickenburg and Tonopah.
  17. Welcome to the forum. You will be amazed how much this scale stuff costs once you get goin. I've put over 500 dollars into a rig build. My Cannonball entry, the forum community contest, I've got over a 100 bucks in it already, it's still a pile of parts. I'm not trying to scare ya, it's a ton of fun. I know 1:1 costs much much more as I have 73 Camaro with a small block 406.
  18. The new 1 is awesome, I've built 2 so far. Here's the first 1. And a link to the build thread, http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=91289&page=1 And the 2nd, I put a Mercury sleeper from a Diamond Reo on it, and it's almost 100% box stock. I lowered the red truck a little in the front and added a bunch of stuff to it.
  19. Now that's a big 10-4 good buddy! Well, her or Mila Kunis.
  20. I think we're suppose to get down to around 50 tonight and a high of 75 tomorrow. Sorry fellas, guess that little more salt for the wound.
