  1. 4x4 TYJ. Typical Yellow Jeep. Just finished updating this today. Painted hinges and other details black. Added two antennas and a hitch receiver.
  2. Kinda off-topic but also pretty neat: Those were the other models I have built since. Pretty cool how they are positioned the same way in the pictures, eh?
  3. Hello Everyone, I joined this forum about 39 days ago and just wanted to share how I got back into the modelling hobby. Once upon a time, in March, I experienced several sleepless nights from constantly thinking about my dream cars. Not good since I was studying at University. To set my mind free, I decided to draw them out so I would not have to worry about forgetting what they look like (yeah, i'm weird ). This actually worked, for a little while, until I had the bright idea of actually building a model of it. I did, and four more model cars later, here I am with no real intention of stopping. I think I live happily ever after, at least I hope I do . Here is the drawing I made (sketched it on looseleaf, took a picture, uploaded it and used Paint to color it): Here is what the model the looks like (not quite as exact): Later went on to do a revised drawing (this is what it really looks like in my head): I also made these two trucks in the beginning (although never got around to coloring the Semi/pick-up truck): Thanks for reading/looking. Hope you enjoyed the story and pictures! Until next time... Thanks!
  4. Thanks! I like it as well
  5. Hi Everyone, I decided to go back to the models I built over the months and fix them up to look better. Would appreciate any suggestions on how to make them look even better. Here is what I started with (If there is any errors in the years I put in please let me know and I will fix them ): Here is what I have done so far: Dream Car. I removed the fog lights, tried to make the chassis fit a bit better and fixed the rear valence. Removed rear Chevy bowtie decal, painted on a new one and removed excess from rear license plate decal. Also painted the front bumper scoop, hood scoop indent (outdent? lines? idk...), door handles, side vents and rear spoiler black. Sorry, it's still a little dusty from sitting on the shelf for a few months. Ladybug. I repainted parts of the rear section so there is not that much white space showing (places I had missed). Added on a custom bug deflector, vent visors and sunroof deflector. Painted the "SRT" red and lug nuts black on the rims. Golden Guitar! Came with the Magnum kit. 4x4. So far on the Jeep, I have painted the hood details, door hinges and locks black. Planning on adding two antennas: one just in front of the windshield, before the hood line on the passenger side, and one on the passenger side of the rear bumper. Will post an updated picture after I do so. Light Recon. Have not done anything on the Ram yet. I plan on adding nerf bars, custom rear bumper with lights, and either a bull bar or a full push bar with lights on the front. Decided to keep the wheels the way they are as I do not have any other and no money to order bigger ones. Looks fairly acceptable regardless. Heavy Muscle. For the Chevelle, I do not know what more to add-on/fix. I have made the hood fit a lot better though. Anyway, that's my plan. Will update as more gets done. At this rate, it seems like I am in stuck a long-term work-in-progress mode with my models, but it's kinda fun...good thing I don't have a new one to play with... Comments/suggestions are always appreciated. Hope you liked reading/looking through this. Feel free to post your own little updates/re-do's as well! Until next time... Thanks!
  6. Thanks for the comments! For the hood, I cut out a piece of plastic from one the of the bags it came with and taped it on with Scotch tape. I was too lazy/tired to make it look better.

    06 Camaro

Good luck on this project as well! I'll be sure to follow this one. I thought I was the only one with chassis problems on this model (figured I had warped the body and/or chassis while handling).... I also had trouble with the front fog lights fitting properly but my box art is different (had a red Camaro on it and came molded in red, but still an '06 and from AMT) so hopefully that won't happen with you. Don't worry though, yours will definitely turn out a lot better than mine!
  8. Complimentary box art that comes with purchase: Next project will be a scratch built trailer to hold this beauty. I would like to thank in advance for any comments or suggestions. Until next time... Thanks!
  9. Hello, I just finished this model car. Took about a month total, which is the longest I have ever taken to build a model (usually takes me a week to do ). The kit is an AMT 1970 Chevelle SS (Jack Reacher Issue). I used colors from Testor's Special Value Acrylic Paint set. It has the LS6 motor in it. Had a lot of trouble putting on the front bumper, needed to shave headlight openings like instructions suggested but did not go all way due to fear of breaking it. Hood doesn't not fit on properly because I cut it into thirds and glued it back to make hole so the engine could be seen. Scratch-built Modifications include: custom roll cage, side exit exhausts, side view mirrors (kit does not come with any ), windshield decal, and rear spoiler. I had a lot of fun building it, learned a lot. On a scale of "shelf of doom" to "completely awesome" I rate it an overall "meh". Could be much better but I'm really happy with they way it turned out. Thanks for reading! Beep Beep! Here comes the pictures... Non-staged photos: wait there's more...
  10. Thanks guys for the comments! I'll look into finding bigger tires for the Dodge.
  11. Appreciate the comments, Thanks guys!
  12. Hello, I am posting this thread to show you, and the world (maybe), my model trucks. This first one is a Revell Jeep Wrangler Rubicon. I painted the Jeep with a combination of Testor's Yellow, Black, Silver, and Red Gloss. Aside from the the color scheme, it is box-stock. I built this back in June 2014. It was a lot of fun and I definitely recommend this kit. This next truck is my first real not-box-stock model. It is from Revell's Dodge Ram VTS Pick-up kit. I added a large suspension lift kit, roll bar with lights, and a spoiler. I painted it mostly with Testor's Black Gloss. Doing the modifications was personally a large undertaking but also a lot of fun. I built this in July 2014. Looks alright. Hope you like it! Thanks!
  13. Hello, I am new here to the forums and this is my first post. After several years away from building model cars as a kid, I recently decided to jump back into the hobby. I am trying to build one model a month and have so far built two cars and two trucks. I will post the trucks in the pick-up truck section. This is my first model after many years. It is a box-stock AMT 2006 Chevrolet Camaro Concept. I painted the exterior with Testor's Purple Gloss and the interior with Black Gloss (kit came molded in red). I painted the roof to look like the car had a T-top. This model was built back in March 2014. Overall, this was fun kit to build and I am fairly happy with the way it turned out. Yeah, I know it looks pretty bad but that's alright with me (first model in years)! This next model is a Revell Dodge Magnum SRT8. The exterior is painted with Testor's Red Gloss and the interior with Red, Silver, and Black Gloss. I personalized this model a bit by painting the fenders, skirts, lower parts of the bumpers, and the tail lights with Black Gloss, which was a pretty big modification for me at the time. This was built in May 2014. I am really happy on how this one turned out. That is all for now. Hope you all liked them! Currently working on a not-box-stock AMT 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS (Jack Reacher Issue). Thanks!
