  1. Yup, it is done. Any questions?
  2. It is finished and posted in Under Glass.
  3. Here's an earlier issue of the same car, built about ten years ago!
  4. I love this model. Lindberg issued a toy way back when, and Round 2 re-issues it with a bunch of really neat parts!!! Even though the basic kit is not exactly an accurate "34 Ford" it makes a wild and crazy Rat. I added AMT Chrysler headers, Smoothster wheels with slicks in back, and mostly kit parts. Red primer was applied, then grey primer, then flat black followed by some sanding, scraping, rust, dirt and flat clear. I hope Round 2 and the "Lindberg Chop Shop" make a few more of these old/new rats. Yes, I could have detailed the engine a bit, but decided not to, as this kit doesn't need it to be cool. And my eyes are getting worse!!!
  5. Right on! I got Lindberg kits because they were cheaper; I got $1.50 for "allowance" and when AMT, MPC and Revell went up to two bucks, I had to make do! Now those Palmer kits...I got one as a young kid, and never ever got another as they were crummy as heck..bad models...and now, they go on Ebay and other sites for an alarming amount of cash...No thanks, I'll spend more to get better stuff..
  6. here's my Lincoln, built a few years ago...it has '49 Merc suspension front and rear, frenched headlights, '59 caddy rear lights (From the '49 Merc kit) hubcaps gotten on line, black and white rolls and pleats inside with camaro buckets in front etc etc...BUT YOURS...now that is one heck of a lot of work. I like the smooth trunk area. But I am way too lazy to do THAT much!!! NIce
  7. Check out the finished Rat Rod "Under Glass"...needed the space, deleted the junk..
  8. Here's my "Special" in Mystic Emerald and pearl White...
  9. Here's the belly of the beast. Yes, I know the 1/16" solder pipes are not the same length to the collectors...but it uses heat-shrink tubing and it was a real chore trying to get it to stay put and get it hot without destroying anything...and i really needed two extra hands. And once it was in place, i saw the mistake. i never claimed to be perfect and God accepts that.
  10. Here's TowMater's cousin from Tennessee. He's a chopped, topless Ford LN-8000 that also has a 426 Hemi, shortened and lowered stance, '34 pickup bed and tow boom, lots of other stuff. Captain's chairs from a van, most other parts from a huge box of leftover truck stuff. Finish is basic flat black with a lot of Rustall (Not available any more under this name) and everything else is Guards Red and flat steel..
  11. Yeah, it's got a Hemi! Made from three different kit parts.
  12. I just tried diamond plate; I think it just might work. Now I need an engine...thinking about a blown Hemi from a funny car.
  13. Lincoln in Root Beer and pearl white...and the Kart which will be turned over to a friend to finish.
  14. View the finished truck at "Cooter, the Hillbilly Tow Truck". All construction photos were deleted.
  15. Testor's "White lightning" with a white primer base. This particular pearl white is easy to use, just be careful you don't :load up" too much...light coats then a final heavy finish coat with lots of clear. "Swirls" appear if you have a heavy spray finger!!!
  16. I never met George, but I always felt i knew him since i read all those magazines in the 50's and built every model i could lay hands on. So a friend asked me to paint a Kart for him...now i have to have one too. That is Danbury Kart in the background, I used it to get the details just right...even though the Danbury example isn't EXACTLY right either!!! Close enough to make my buddy John happy...and George, lookin' down on us from on high.
  17. It was a "Model King" reissue, and is being again released by Round 2 but only the car, no boat and trailer included like mine was.
  18. I have several Flintstone bodies, and though they aren't "complete kits" due to his high quality castings, I have converted some into mighty fine unique builds. I haven't tried any other resin than Modelhaus and Flintstone so i am ignorant of the other five!!!
  19. In a perfect world, Jimmy Flintstone would take over where Mocelhaus left off...purchase all Don's stuff and continue to offer everything at reasonable prices...but I am dreaming .
  20. I have as favorites a couple websites that have old kits. One had a 1960 Lincoln AMT kit There are a few other Lincoln kits out there...but the price is from $200-300.00 or higher. I paid less than a hun for this Lincoln...and though it does not have lake pipes, louvers and all that other "Custom" stuff, or decals, it is a hardtop. I did not want a convertible, which is why I went with Modelhaus instead of dropping 2oo bucks on a kit that just is not worth the price and a convertible to boot...depends on what you want. I did get a 1964 Cutlass kit just because I wanted it. If the prices weren't so outrageous for mint kits, I would already have that '60 convert.
  21. Just a quick note about this Lincoln... The Modelhaus folks did some research on this one; the interior is correct in most respects, comparing it to some Google photos. The seat pattern is correct for a '58, and the dashboard is spot on, with all the right details. Of course, this is what we have all learned to expect from Don H. But while searching the photo files, I came across one small mistake. The steering wheel is NOT correct for a '58 Connie. Further searching revealed the wheel is actually a '57 Premiere piece!!! But trust me, nobody I know will ever see the difference. Other than that small "boo-boo" this kit is near-perfect. I also pray that someone continues with their product. I'll buy them no matter what the price. IF THE QUALITY survives the change!
  22. I Googled "1958 Lincoln" and there are hundreds of photos, some restored, some drivers, some a little ratty, some only good for parts!!! There sure are a lot of 58's out there though.
  23. I heard that the Modelhaus proprietors are retiring soon. Sad. So this may be the last one I do...unless i can score another before they are all gone. This '58 Continental was expensive, but a really nice casting that will take very little work to finish.
  24. You are wise beyond your years, Grasshopper! Not many people even know about that Poncho...mine came complete with boat and trailer along with those scuba goodies...but the tanks in the back of the Nomad came from the Blue Bandito!!! LOL
