Interesting stuff here. I'm learning a few things, and that's always good.
-
I'd like to see some up to date 1:16 fuel dragsters and funny cars.
-
For me, the default blade is X-Acto. I don't think I've ever used any other brand.
-
Bookmarked. Thanks, looks like some fascinating stuff there.

That rig has a dual identity...Peterbilt script and flaps on the front of a Kenworth!
I hadn't noticed that. Looks like some sort of circus rig to me.
-
I know this is off-topic but do any of you guys in St-Louis go to the club where Chuck Berry sings apparently once every few months?
Nope, not me, and I probably never will.
-
Makes sense. Thanks, fellas. I've seen some fairly elaborate ones, and had been wondering what the heck they were.
-
From time to time, I see on some photos of big rigs, what appears to be a huge vertical rack of some sort, that covers the entire front end of the truck. What in the world is it for?
-
Glad to know. I have some 1:72 Gato parts that are supposed to be on the way to me from Revell.

I tend to update when the mood strikes, or just to let anyone that may care, know that I'm still plugging away, and haven't abandoned the effort. As to feedback, that's always welcomed, but seldom forthcoming it seems. Large view counts would tend to indicate that somebody likes it, and I suppose that's good enough for me.

My municipality requires that my personal property tax be paid before the issuance of a mandatory auto sticker, but this year, they're willing to waive that requirement for me; good news, as I'm terribly cash poor for the time being.
-
Bad news indeed, Tom. I lost my father the same way, and it was heart breaking to watch him deteriorate.
-
Interesting, Scott. I've lived in St Louis all my life, and never heard of that place until now. When I was younger (much younger), I worked at a photo lab here, and loved it.
-
This might be a good place to start, Tom.

Speaking of getting stuff in the eye... I was cleaning a brush once after painting something with a bottle of testors. And I was using the little bottle of testors thinner, and was just about done and slipped a little as I pulled the brush out, and it flung a good bit of paint thinner in my right eye.
That shiz burned like nothing I've ever felt before. Excruciating pain and Lazer fire lava acid sun burning for about 15 mins even after flushing it profusely.
I've concluded that lacquer thinner in the eye is not a good thing.

Man, I'm glad I asked the question!
Of course, these are the survivor stories.....
Yes, some of the more unfortunate ones are no longer with us.

As one of my local club members found out. He had glued two parts not realizing that the CA glue had run between two fingers. Applied the kicker ........................................ and the screaming began.
Done that too.

 ??? just checking the phone lines? That would be kinda strange.
No,... emails. Same difference though I guess.

I laid open the pad of my left thumb from stem to stern in my late teens. I'm 46 now with only nicks since then, so I'm doing something right I guess.
Or your blades are getting dull.

What irks me today? Craigslist morons. "Hi, is this item still for sale"? Why, yes it is. "OK, I'm really not interested". What?
-
Repo Man, and I knew that without the image name...
I guess the name is a pretty good clue.
-
I spilled part of a bottle of CA on my pants once. I assumed it wouldn't remain such a sticky mess if I spritzed it with some accelerator; bad move on my part, it heated up to roughly the same temperature as the core of the sun.
-
Sometimes here in St Louis, it feels that hot.

Very nice. I have the big Revell Constitution (with sails) as well. If I ever find the time, I'd like to do it and the Cutty Sark, and I'll be a happy guy.

As a die-hard Challenger fan, I find this to be,... sad.
