I need to watch this one again.

You guys are a riot. I'm still trying to figure out what she sees in me...forever suspicious of any little good fortune, you know? I think it may be that a couple of things I fixed for her actually worked afterwards and stayed fixed. Like Red Green says,
Me too. Whenever I'm having a really good day, I always have this nagging suspicion that I'll end up getting run over by a bus.

In order to give some sort of visual variety to bottom area of car, chassis has received a base coat of Tamiya Nato Black. Rear end, springs, driveshaft and some suspension components, will be painted some complimentary shades. (Lousy photo, but until I get my light box setup, it's about the best I can do.)

Good for you, Joe. Looks like I may be going curbside with this for the show here in May. OOB rules are pretty vague, but seem to prohibit several simple things I want to do with this, whereas curbside has no such restrictions.

Its a mad mad mad world
You fellas are pretty good at this. I'll keep digging.

This is kinda' cool.

Cool. Thanks Kevin.
No real updates to speak of yet. I've done a (very) little bit of filling and sanding of a couple pieces. The seat has a big notch molded into it for the pilot that needed filling. Filled in the hole for the belly tank. And filled the seam on the prop assy. That was a bit of a pain. Gonna check out the finger-nail files at wally-world tonight to see if I can find some better sanding tools for tight spaces.
I also bought a ton of military paint. Can't wait for that to show up.
So it's not stalled, but it's going pretty slow right now. Couple minutes each night. I'm cool with that.
Same here. I figure that whatever I do today on a kit, no matter how small, is something I don't have to do tomorrow.

Works fine for me, Pat.

I was finally able to shoot some paint on the engine today. Not much of an update perhaps, but I am slowly making progress. Frame is mostly finished and awaiting paint, as is body and interior. I expect that the tires are going to be the worst problem, as they have horrible seams on them, but since I'm going box stock, I'm stuck with them.

I took a stab at the old 1:32 Hasegawa "Hi-Grade" D-9 a few years ago, what an utterly horrible kit. It came out OK, but took a heck of a lot of work I can tell you that.

Thanks Glenn!!! There was a loud screaming/ siren noise that wasusually came from that little propeller you see there on the left wing on the landing gear spat. Alot of pilots elected to remove them because they were so dang noisy and were called the "Trumpets of Jericho". Youre right though, a god awful noise when diving. Fear factor played as much of a role as the bombing itself with the sirens on these things. I have built alot of aircraft from WWII and like them all but I have a soft spot for the Luftwaffe's airframes as they had some really cool looking birds and narly camo schemes.
A lot of the bombs were fitted with whistles for the same purpose. I have lots of photos, should you ever need any.

As it turns out, I have a fair amount of references on the P-40. If you need any specific photos, please let me know.

I like the shark, and the entire display is eye catching. I have the Dolphin kit to finish one of these days, but without the funky backpack.
-
Cool little project here. For some reason, the GB reminds me of the Russian I-16
-
I didn't even know until now that they ever produced any rifle kits. I have built a few of the LS 1:1 scale handgun kits though, and they're pretty cool.

I've been under that same frame:
Not a bad idea at all, Joe, though the micro chisel is very handy for this sort of thing too. I'm not even sure the judges will flip it over,... but they might.

I was finally able to finish emptying one of my two storage lockers (the larger one) today, and I'm thrilled to pieces to put that chapter of my recent move behind me.

Just to clarify the MMVA is not affiliated with IPMS/Gateway, Several members belong to both clubs but each club acts indepent of each other. IPMS/Gateway is giving web space to MMVA to host their website. It is here

Nice to see you today Kevin
PM sent re: show in May.

Looks good. I really like that trailer too.

Ten years from now, I'll be 62. Ten a year will make 100 builds. If I can still build after that...Great! Steve
Sorry, multiplication malfunction.

Nice job on the DV.III, was the lozenge decals ? Base looks super also.
I still have the first 1/72 Biplane I ever built , Soviet WWII IIyuszyn I-153 - old Aurora kit. Back then my eyes were good enough to rig it.
Yes, Techmod decals. I thought the base idea somewhat novel, being polygonal, as is the lozenge itself.

It seems to me like they get the first four quarters to play offense.
