Through a trade with a fellow forumite, I was able to add this AMT '70 Challenger R/T convertible to my pile, for a future project. Interestingly, the kit also provides a hardtop.

I love it............well, except for the daisy looking VW wheels..............LOL
X2

Is that the guy from My Favorite Martian standing next to the Rolls?
Yes, that's Ray Walston.

Here soon the wife and i will be moving. Once i get my hobby room/ garage set up, this will definitely find bench time. Since right now my hobby area is the kitchen counter, this is too big. That and i have nowhere to set it when im not working on it or when its finished. The things we forget when that styrene inspiration hits us.
I have a similar problem with a 1:72 Gato class sub I'm working on (USS Cobia). At 53" in length, it's troublesome finding free space to temporarily store it when not working on it. It's destined for my headboard eventually, and under glass.

Well, I'm not much of an accuracy freak (nothing wrong with that, it's just not usually a big deal to me), but the finished models I've seen, certainly look the part, and that's almost always good enough for me. Generally speaking, I think it's hard to go wrong with any of the later 1:48 Hasegawa releases.

Oh yes, the newer 1:32 Hasegawa D-9 kits are sweet, no question about it. As to the why of the earlier attempt, that's anybody's guess.

This pleased me immensely; my receiving this Dragon kit that was gifted to me by a fellow forum member from another site. I'm such a happy pup!
-
Certainly not auto related, this was received today, the Dragon 1:6 scale 20mm Flak 38. What a very generous gesture from a forum member from another site.

I believe that most Modelers have a touch of artist in them, in fact Modeling is a art form, that being said anyone who builds should use artistic license. Build for your self not others.
Peace Jimmy "RASS"
I already have one. Created for aircraft modeling, but practical for anything really.

I have an already started 1:48 Hasegawa Ju 87G-2, but have no earthly idea when (if ever) I'll be finishing it. Yours looks pretty cool. I have an Africa scheme in mind as well, for the 1:32 Revell Ju 88A-4, whenever I get around to that.

Yes, the old 1:32 "Hi-Grade" kit is a mishmash of new fuselage (not bad), and the old Fw 190A wings (horrible, with raised panel lines and the infamous "kidney bean" wing root gun bay covers). P.E. included, as well as some white metal parts, were OK, but nothing spectacular, certainly nothing to justify the expense of the kit at the time, given the overall poor quality of what was offered. All of the wing areas were sanded smooth, re-scribed, and new gun bay doors scratched up. Additional detailing was added throughout, and the end result was then OK.
Hasegawa subsequently released a 1:32 D-9 with brand new tooling, which is vastly superior to the kit I had built.

@Kevin- Deathproof
Give that man a cigar!

And yet another.

Interesting stuff. I have some Star Trek stuff to get back to one of these days, especial the Romulan Warbird, my favorite of the lot.
-
Found them all. Thank you guys. Its odd how they don't even appear in searches.
The search function for the forum software is kind of lame, no question about it. We have similar search issues on the other site I'm frequently on, and it uses almost the exact same software.

My daily (and only) driver, is a '95 Mercury Cougar XR7, dark green, 4.6L. Kind of beat up now (and that's an understatement), but it's been a very dependable car since I first bought it in 1999. Here's a not so great photo when it was still fairly new to me.

I appreciate the input fellas. And Joe, I too have looked at several cars from below, some restored, some not, and I'm OK with the darker color, as I have seen them both ways. Besides, as a curbside, I'm not really concerned with the bottom, nor the engine too much. Most of whatever painting I'll do, is for forum updates, a common dilemma for me. Once finished, no one (including myself) will ever look at the bottom of the car again.

@Kevin- "A Bronx Tale" Good movie!
Amen, brother, a very good movie indeed. This one is probably another no brainer.

I'm sorry to say that I've never bought a copy, though I've seen them at the LHS on many occasions. Not that much into magazines anymore now.

Another memory... In my rebuildables, I have a model built by a kid back then... it has no paint on the rockers, and lots of crud in the paint on the body sides. I recognized it immediately as a car that was placed on the basement floor for spraying. The rockers were on the floor and the spray shot all the dirt on the floor up into the wet paint. Been there, done that! And I thought my father was a genius when he saw that and made me a spray rack from a coat hanger! When I was preparing my grandparents house for sale, and cleaning the basement, I saw a blue spray painted shadow of a model body on the concrete floor.
A ghost from the past? I love it. I too sprayed dirt and crud all over my models back then, always wondering why they looked so bad.
-
Real slow going here, but at least I was able to spray some wood colored acrylic base for the oils to follow. Once that’s done, painting the rest of the interior should be a snap (I think).

I don't really mind constructive criticism at all, whether solicited or not. Non constructive criticism is a pain though, the person who believes that I'm trying to build my model to his perceived standards, when in fact I'm perfectly content with what I do.
I think that's a common occurrence, the notion that everyone aspires to the same standards, when in fact, it just isn't so.

Is it a paid account?
If you're asking me, no, it's a freebie.

So to speak? I have the old large scale Revell kit of the Constitution, but that's as far as I'm willing to go. The plank on frame stuff, is for souls far more brave than I. Looks like you're off to a rocking good start. I suspect more photos of the guts will become available as they begin the restoration process on her.
