Ukrainian Scale Cars Production (USCP)
DoctorLarry replied to Junkman's topic in Car Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
Their wheels were impressive and they had stuff that others were not doing so I bought 2 sets, then they quit. The Ukrainian Scale wheels are very nice and they are making lots of styles so maybe they will make more of the ones I like. -

They are very good quality and have a lot of detail. I also bought some C1 wheels, which were from Great Britain (through Australia). Very high quality. But I go to their web site now and they do not make as much as they once did and most of the items are sold out. Shame, as they may also be a victim of their own success or just decided to throw in the towel. -

I have not ordered those but several other sets. Larry -
Tom, to my knowledge, the 73 style was only offered as a 1/32 75 Century by Lindberg. No 1/25. David, when I get the masters done I will turn to the interiors (dash, tub, seats, console, door panels). I then plan to cast both as kits. Thanks!

Getting close to the finish on my two Buick projects: 73 Gran Sport and 76 Century Pace Car. Down to final details on both: lights, drip rails, door handles and miscellaneous trim.

Got a snow day Friday and worked on the pace car some more. Got the lights on the driver's side and re-worked the front end. Started on the bumpers and final touches. Added the rear spoiler so now just final sanding, adding trim and finishing up details.

Squadron is easy to shape but relatively coarse. It sands easily and so it is good for roughing in shapes. I then follow that with Tamiya white. It is much finer and harder. Still sands easily and leaves a smoother surface. I usually get things close with this and then use automotive spot putty after this. It is basically thick primer and sands very smooth. I also use it to sharpen body lines. Then a coat of filler primer (Dupli-Color) which is thick but sands off easily. Then a fine primer and topcoat after that.

I love Christmas vacation. No meetings, no student problems, time to rest. Got a little more done on my pace car. I still don't think the front end is right and I have to fit things, fix all of the body lines, put on marker lights and create bumpers and spoilers. I hope to have this done shortly. I modeled the car used at Pikes Peak-it had the bulged hood and T-tops.

76-77 LeMans Enforcer 0r Smokey & Bandit Sheriff Justice Car
DoctorLarry replied to DEL's topic in WIP: Model Cars
Here's what I did: The roof was actually from an Infiniti 4 door sedan. I grafted it onto one of my 77 Can Am's and then stretched the doors to make the sedan. The roof was similarly shaped and fit nicely. I filled in the shaker hole and I had a pretty much ready made sedan.- 115 replies

Stunning work. How did you create the decals?

I have ordered about five sets of wheels from him. Great quality and detail. Not really that slow, considering distance. Kind of like Australia. -

My latest two projects are Collonade Buicks: 73 Gran Sport and a 76 Century Indy pace Car. The 73 just needs final touches: grille, marker lights, locks and bumpers and it is pretty well done . The 76 is a work in progress. The Pace Car version had the formal roof with the V shaped rear window so I started with a glue bomb 75 JoHan Cutlass for the correct body scale and the roof of a 77 Revell Monte Carlo that I had chopped up for something else. Strip styrene to get the correct shape as well as grinding off the "pontoons" on the side of the Cutlass. Glued on the front end of a 77 Cutlass resin Nascar body and got out the Dremel and Squadron and Tamiya putty. Just like bodywork on a car to get the lines right.

1973-74 ? Pontiac Grand Am in resin ?

I can still do the Can Ams. Right now I am almost done with the 73 Gran Sport prototype. I am also working on a 76 Century Pace Car prototype as well as a 74 GTO. Thanks! -

You could take a 74 Grand Am body and the 73 LeMans/GTO front end and kit bash one. You would have to change the grilles and tail lights but that would not be too hard to do. -
My Collonade go-to, Jo-Han 75 Cutlass. This is actually a project started by Ron Lambert. He got stalled and handed it off to me so I took what he had started and am trying to finish it up. The Cutlass has the correct wheelbase and a basic interior tub so with a little work you can transform it into other Collonade coupes.

New project to work on: 73 Buick Gran Sport. This continues my pursuit of GM Collonades-my favorite cars. Left side mostly done-I have to put in marker lights and fenderwell and rocker moldings. Then on to passenger side and front and rear. Then interior-dash, console, door panels, seats. Now that it is getting cold, I need an inside project.

I still do them occasionally as work schedule permits. My next two projects are the 73 Gran Sport and 76 Regal Indy Pace Car. I also have done a 76 Hurst T Top Grand Prix in addition to the Grand Am projects. The Cutlass chassis will work with mods. Th picture is one of my bodies done by someone on the board.
-
Got both of them. I have a scan of the Grand Am one because I used it when I built mine. The other I have somewhere but I just moved so who knows where it is! I'll post it when I find it.

There was an old Model Cars magazine article about transforming the Nascar Laguna into a street car using mods from a Jo Han 75 Cutlass. If I can find it I will post it.
