  1. Here are three I did a few years ago. Actually, I just built the aqua/white one. The other two I just did some color flipping on. The yellow one looks sort of like the four door '57 done on Wheeler Dealers, but the pink one looks like a Pepto Bismol factory exploded on it!! It was a fun build. I did some detail on the engine, but I don't have any pictures. Enjoy.
  2. Actually, no one with authority has told Dr. Cranky "No". Gregg runs the board and I haven't seen any post where he said that a rusty section would not be done. Until Gregg says it, Dr. Cranky has a right to ask for it, doesn't he? I know Harry is a moderator, but I think even he will admit he doesn't have that authority. Just saying...
  3. Thanks, Rob. I will keep my eyes open for this one.
  4. David, is this kit for sale now, or did you get a copy to do a build of? Your 1/12th scale Mustang build was exceptional, by the way.
  5. I can't see your pictures here at work (blocked, you know) but here is an aluminum bodied Cobra I saw at the Imperial Palace Hotel in Las Vegas. Could you perhaps put some of your pictures in a post so I may see them? Thanks.
  6. Oops, I meant ratio, not ration.
  7. Hey, Doc. What ration do you use, paint to thinner? Or, is it just a "feel" thing? Also, could you post a picture in a reply? I'm at work and can't view pictures unless they are in a reply. Thanks.
  8. Okay, clue me in. What is this hanging you were invited to? I'm hoping it's not what it sounds like!!
  9. Mike, what is the location of this show? I've been to this show before, but I can't remember the address. Thanks for posting this.
  10. I also had a Probe, a 1989 model, bought in Spring of 1988. It had the four cylinder/5 speed combination, and I got 34 mpg going back and forth to work, which is 25 miles one way, in a rural area. On my trips from South Carolina to Disney World, I got a consistent 37. As stated, it was a "zippy" little car. I can remember going down Interstate 95 when the car was brand new and haveing people stare at it. We could even see one woman's lips exclaiming "I don't know what it is." Also, as stated, since it was a Mazda underneath the sheet metal, it was very dependable. Wish I still had it...
  11. That is really well done!! Where are the pictures taken? The forced perspective makes the tank look very realistic.
  12. Hey, Clay. As others have said, thanks for serving as you do. I have a nephew who just finished his "vacation" at Parris Island. Hope he had a good time at the beach!! What part of Virginia did you move to?
  13. Why aren't you going to admit any spectators? J/k That was going to be my first reply, but as you can see I messed that up. Karma, I guess.
  14. I remember from the late '60's/early '70's there was a Ford "J" car with a clear body and I believe there was a Mustang sportroof drag car with a clear body. I remember spraying the body with a translucent blue paint that tinted the body but didn't hide any of the detail. It looked pretty cool. HTH.
  15. Jose, when is the contest? I will be in San Antonio from this Saturday until Thursday attending the SolidWorks convention. If I were to get there soon enough and feel like it I might come by. I couldn't open the pdf, so where is the contest being held? Thanks for any information. Mike
  16. Here is a picture of one of mine. It's the 1/12th scale model. The model is turquois, but I played around with the picture can came up with the pink and yellow. I gave the model to a guy whose father had a '57 in the same color scheme.
  17. Trying Harry's procedure. If it works, this is a backdrop my wife painted for Bible School this year.
  18. Just trying Harry's procedure.
  19. He teaches electronics and radio stuff.
  20. His name is William "Butch" Pelfrey. He's about 5'9", 60 years old now, bald with big ears. He was stationed out there in 1980 to teach electronics. He retired, and the Marines hired him back as a civilian contractor. He put in 22 years, did 13 months in South Viet Nam in the mid '60's, and did a tour of Turkey and Okinawa. He had a couple of years as a recruiter in New Orleans, too. Yeah, I did like 29 Palms. But, unlike you, I was only there for a week, in the spring, and I had the option of leaving!! I really enjoyed the oasis at the Inn at 29 Palms. It is very pretty.
  21. Hi, Clayton. As others have already said, thanks for your service. My oldest brother and youner brother were both Marines. My oldest brother is retired, but teaches electronics to marines at Twentynine Palms. I've been fortunate to visit there three times, and really enjoyed it. Twice my wife and I drove from Las Vegas and once we drove from San Diego. Having grown up here in South Carolina my whole life, the desert was a whole 'nother experience. We went up into Joshua Tree and went to Key's Lookout. The desert is pretty, in a stark kind of way, but I like seeing green. Anyway, thanks again for your service to this great country of ours.
