  1. When The good Dr. Cranky showed us the contents of his Hudson kit I noticed the color instructions. I thought : Wow! that's really neat.
  2. I'm sorry. Did I say "Bashing" ? I meant : appraisal, appreciation, assessment, comment, commentary, critique, elucidation, essay, estimate, evaluation, examination, exposition, judgment, notice, observation, opinion, and let's not forget: hints, comments , bring notice, concerns, maybe it could have been done this way, and what ever else you want to call it. "Where" Ken ? Not on this board, as I state in the title of this thread. "What other board? Opinions, ideas, comments, et.al. are certainly there.
  3. Oooops. Guess I missed this thread: http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=48351
  4. I tried the one in the upper right corner, the color one. It wouldn't go. I always get shut down when trying the H.A.M.B. board. I thought it was a naughty language issue.
  5. That's what that disk sander is for. You can make all kinds of shapes and sizes.
  6. a hand full of clothespins and a little time on a disk sander and you have some great clamps, as many as your fertile mind can imagine. Here's another :
  7. A cheep compass an artist hobby knife (thin handle) and you have a great tool for cutting large size holes / wheel wells.
  8. When posting pictures I sometimes get this message "You are not allowed to use that image extension on this community." This from a site about soap: http://www.old-time.com/commercials/1940%27s/L-A-V-A.htm ?
  9. Have you noticed on some other boards the critics / rivet counters are starting their rants. Boy that didn't take long.
  10. That would be interesting. Seems like "same ol same ol" when I go the one near me.
  11. Is there anything new or interesting inside the "new" AMT Tall Tee ?
  12. http://www.dump.com/...rsepower-video/ With apologizes to Joe Handley. I thought I saw something on this, http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=48211
  13. Right and left sides are different.
  14. Longbox55, you win the prize. I wonder how much further this will go ?
  15. I'm hooked for two, a custom and a drag version. I had two friends in high school that both had '41's. One was a coupe the other brother had a two door sedan. Of course neither one was chopped. Both of these cars were hot rods. The coupe had a hot '48 Merc and we tended to the hot rod business on the two door with a dual carb manifold and a couple of 97's I dug out of a box in my garage.
  16. Everyone's abuz on the new Hudson. What are your plans? Some one said a mild custom. That sounds pretty good but thinking back, I don't remember ever seeing one that wasn't just plan ol stock (boring). The different racing, Grand National and drag racing versions seem like they'd be interesting too.
  17. I think you have a valid point. But it's interesting how many build models and don't know the basics (where the plugs go on a specific engine). But to go off on these threads when someone asks a simple question (not a stupid question, there is no such thing) and some one else gives a basic simple answer then everyone and their dog goes off siting all of the finer (?) points. I.E. a 301 is actually a bored out 283. It does nothing but muddy up the waters.
  18. That's my point. What difference does it make ? The 5.0 started out as a 221. Fill in the blanks.
  19. RE: "I've been told (and its been mentioned) that the markings on the existing M&H slicks aren't correct (M&H never had white letters) but a lot of guys liked to paint the letters by hand with whitewall paint. I've seen redline pie crust slicks in 1:1, not sure if they were M&H or not." According to the pictures in the recent articale in the first issue of "Elapsed Times" from Car Craft they look like dead ringers to the pictures in all of their adds. This is a 12 page article about M&H Racemaster drag slicks.
