The Artega brothers had a shop down the street from my Grandparents. I spent alot of my youthful visits down the street lookinig at this car!
The real car.
It seems everyone is lusting after the MG including me.
Visiting Strada Sports table at a show is dangerous, I wound up buying over a hundred dollars of goodies I did'nt know I needed at a show in St.Louis last month!
I have a '65 Cooper S that's my daily driver. It's like a gokart with a roof!
My friends with Porsches and Corvettes laugh until I let them drive it. They have to go 100 mph to get the same feeling out of their car I can get going to the store.
I could see an amateur casting, this but to pay for a casting of such poor quality is insane. Your a better man than I am to tackle this. I have had resin kits I have sent back (taking the loss myself) because of poor quality. I had been eyeing these indy kits, but this has made up my mine to avoid them. thanks for posting what you have been up against.
p.s. I really liked your Eagle!
I keep 2 small buckets of warm water handy when I airbrush acrylics. When I'm finished with the first color I take the jar of paint off of the airbrush. Next I put the airbrush in the 1st bucket and pull the trigger. This pulls the water through cleaning it out. The second bucket is used to clean the dirty water from the 1st bucket out of the spray passages.
Thanks for the compliments guys. The motor in the back is the one that came in the kit. The V8 in the truck and the Rally wheels came from my spare parts box. The truck is a copy of a 1:1 truck my son is building for his Father-in Law.
Guts is not the word. Imagine hitting the wall with fuel tanks on both of your hips! Saftey has come a long way. I've been eyeing this kit for awhile. I'll be following closely!
While doing some painting today I caught myself doing something I did in my RC car painting days. When using water bases acrylics keep 2 buckets of water handy. After spraying a color detach the paint jar and put the airbrush underwater in the 1st bucket and pull the trigger to let if pull water through it like it would paint. The second bucket is for cleaner water after you use the first bucket to remove the bulk of the paint. This is even a better trick if you are switching between different colors.
Hope this helps,
Jeff
