  1. I am glad my car helped to inspire your build. I would love to see the direction you are going in.
  2. Thanks man! If things keep on like this I could be done soon. I just put exhaust back up and it still needs some tweaks. Thanks for checking it out.
  3. Can't wait to see how this turns out. I have a long term project going right now. I' am trying to build my brothers 74 Buick Apollo. I need inspiration... The motor looks excellent too!
  4. Thanks man. Soon that 6.4 liter Hemi will be back in this beast. Just trying to get all the paint and details to lay down the way they are in head. Thanks for keeping up with the progress. I can sing praises all day about my experience with ClearlyScale too...easy as pie to work with.
  5. Thanks. I have more coming. Just trying to get more pics uploaded now. Hello guys! More pics of the Volare. I can't believe I started this back in August and I am still plugging away. Here are the latest pics of progress on the Pro-Touring Volare. I de-chromed the bumpers, primed and painted the body. At the time of this post it is two tone, but I am going to try and get a stripe going done the sides to match the interior color I have chosen. Please let me know what you think. Hopefully this thing will be in the Under Glass section soon. Getting there more to come. Still needs more paint, then it's clear coat time.
  6. A few more pics below. I cut out the t-tops at the advice of my brother and members of the facebook community and it has snowballed from there. I made a hood cowl, installed Recaro seats and a rollbar. Also, I felt the rear wheels were too shallow so I deepened them. Check out the pics.
  7. I've been working on this 1980 Plymouth Volare, from the MPC Fuzz Duster kit, for more than a month now. I though I would be just throwing it together with some cool wheels and some paint. Since I started I have decided to do new things or things I have not been 100% successful at in the past. I flip flopped for 2 weeks before I bought it, and the original intent was to make a junker. On the way out of Hobby Lobby I saw a Maisto 2013 Viper and thought the wheels would look REALLY cool on the Volare. So, with 40% off coupon in hand (or on phone) I purchased both and started this journey. I purchased the donor Viper and the Volare the following day. In between I had a slow day at work and looked up all kinds of Google images of the kit and Pro Touring Plymouth Volares. If you're part of the Facebook or youtube model car scene you MAY have seen this thing before. So, the day I purchase the kit from Hobby Lobby I sat down and tuned into Youtube and one of my favorite builders (MrMinidreams) had picked it up and had the same idea. I'd like to see what he does with his. It all started with pulling the Viper apart, and trying the wheels underneath this beast. The wheels started turning in my head and I thought of a Hellcat Volare...what would that be like. I contacted Mrminidreams and he put me on to ClearlyScale and I purchased a 6.4 liter 392 cubic inch supercharged Hemi with 6 speed gearbox. I had to notch the frame a bit to get it to sit down in the Volare, but that what you do when you want to get it in there. Once I got the headers painted I noticed they would hook up really nicely to aluminum tubing for a more realistic exhaust system. Why not? I am trying new stuff. Take a look at the pics. More to come...
  8. I am feeling the Judge too. I built one YEARS ago and between me my brother and my cousin trading models around it got lost in the shuffle and I dont know where it is now. Ahhh memories...
  9. Thanks for looking out Mike. I will need to look into this. It's cool building and posting here and on youtube, but it's nice to see the real deal in person.
  10. Christine sat on my desk a couple days when I first built her in 2007, but I was afraid my co-workers may get a little handsy with her so I brought her home. No pics were taken there but here is what she looks like now.
  11. This thing blows me away every single time I see it. I always love seeing the glue bombs restored to amazing glory! Wonderful work.
  12. I know this thread is YEARS old, but I recently moved to TX and work in the SA area. I am looking for people into model car building and would love to attend some shows (if there are any.) Let me know if there are any clubs or shows you've discovered around here.
  13. Really nice 74. Looks so real I half expect to see Mike Brady and the rest of the Brady Bunch come out in the driveway. LOL. REALLY dig it ALOT!
  14. Pulled out the Boss Torino again today and I am kind of at a stand still for the interior. I've been doing felt sheets for floors lately, but I may want to flock the floors. Problem is I have no flocking, but miles of felt material. What do you guys think? Do you prefer flocking over the felt material?
  15. I REALLY dig this whole combination. I can't wait to see this one done. This is inspiration for a future truck build for me when I get the time.
  16. Unfortunately I've been stalled on this for the past couple weeks. I have a big move in the works within the next couple months across the country so I still have it on my desk, but it has taken a backseat at the moment to moving preparation. I will get back to it today I think. Thanks for checking up though Mark.
  17. Looking pretty darn good. I like the color and the wheels.
  18. Picked up this Moebius/Model King 1969 Ford F-100 yesterday. Not sure if I should hold onto this sealed kit or put it in the queue for future buildification. Been waiting MONTHS to get a hold of this too.
  19. Thanks man. I just finished removing the drip moldings....we'll see how that turns out. Hahaha... I thought of doing the black BMF but I have not seen that around in quite a while. I will look into again though. I painted the wheel centers graphite gray, but then I stripped them down to the white and kind of was digging it. I decided the color scheme MAY be Orange and black (IF I can get the paint right.) Not sure if it would go well with the white wheels. We will see once painting weather comes back. Still working through ideas and suggestions. Thanks and keep suggestions coming. Cliff
  20. Posted here in error. Was supposed to go on the workbench...Im new here.
  21. Here are pics with the motor under the hood.
  22. Here are more update pics as of Sunday. I put together the 5.0 that will replace the kit 351w/cleveland blend and test fitted it and it called for the hood to get a "bump". It may need more work, but I created a scoop of sorts. I'll keep working on it and posting up what I gots. Meanwhile tell me what you think and PLEASE offer up suggestions and opinions. I may not have the skills yet, but I will try. 302 still needs a little more paint detailing, but this what is going in the car. Here is an attempt at the hood scoop to clear the motor. A bit of styrene and putty. Another angle of the hood on the car A close up of the hack work to get the motor in there.
  23. Hey Andy. Thanks for the feedback. It took a lot to get the wheels the way I wanted them. Still not sure if they will stay white too. The seats were a bit high too so I shaved the bottoms and the tops. they were hitting the roof before and the chassis would not lay in completely. I will reconsider the bumper pans too. I REALLY like the rendering and would like it to turn out like that. Not EXACTLY like it but inspired by it. We will see if I can step up my skills and perhaps re-work the bumpers to fit more flush. This is one of my first times doing this kind of bodywork too. I have thought of shaving all drip moulding/window molding to have it clean around the windows. Also, I have been thinking of stripping all the chrome except the headlight bezels. I love how the example drawing has the "chrome" around the grille body color but black/gray grille mesh. I will put up more progress pics too. Thanks again and I appreciate your suggestions...please keep em coming folks!
  24. I grew up watching this flick when I was kid. My absolute favorite part of the movie is when Monique hands Lane the keys and you the motor start and Mr Muddy Waters starts singing Mannish Boy. Your version of this 67 Camaro looks like it stepped right off the screen. Johnny still wont be able to catch Lane for his $2 I guess. You nailed the paint, the stance, the wheels and the feel of the movie car. Love it!
