  1. UPDATE: Brad displayed this trailer last night at our club meeting (Moonlight Modelers). It's still not finished, but getting closer. (It's stunning, by the way!) He won the balloting for the 'best project.' Congrats, Brad. Can't wait to see her done . . . on April 12 at Desert Scale Classic 10!
  2. Gabe, I've never had any problem when using the Bleche Wite soak - Dawn wash - Duplicolor primer process. But, part of my success may include using only best quality resin castings to start with. Modelhaus, Promolite, Greg Wann, Bandit, Missing Link, All American products are clean to begin with. I've had no problems with Flintstone and most R&R, but I take more care to clean the typical R&R. I've had problems, even with Bleche Wite when trying to use certain other resin castings. The more aggressive procedures described above would probably be worthwhile with most other casters.
  3. I don't think NNL East has much to worry about. Malcontents usually way-overestimate the power of their negativity.
  4. Wow. These guys are great! I really enjoyed all the Beach Boys music they performed on the many YouTube clips I found. Thanks for posting this . . . I had never heard of them before! One interesting thought, though . . . it looks like they have 21 guys on stage to recreate the music and harmonies originally produced by Brian Wilson and the 5-member Beach Boys. Gives you a whole new appreciation for the talents of the Beach Boys!
  5. Contact Mike Cholewa, 602-944-4096. Looking forward to seeing you there!
  6. Wowowowowowowowowowowowowowowowowow!
  7. Only a month away! The Southwest's premier event. Online Registration is up and running and going strong! Visit http://www.cactuscarmodelers.com/ for more information and Online Registration!
  8. Another sweet one, Craig!
  9. And, by the way, Mike . . . great pictures!! Thanks for posting them. Congratulations to you for your Top Twelve Pick award for your stunning '34 Ford coupe! Glad I had a magnifying glass to see all the incredible detailing! I do not know how you did all that. Remarkable model. Glad you're back!
  10. Actually, Mike, the two Good Guys Model Car and Pedal Car Shows/Contests in Arizona are put on by a very hard-working staff of eight volunteers, nearly all of whom have been helping me for thirteen years now. We all happen to be members of Moonlight Modelers and four of us also happen to be members of Cactus Car Modelers. We promote the clubs at every Good Guys event, display the club banners with Good Guys' blessing, and hand-out promotional flyers for Desert Scale Classic, but get no monetary or manpower support from the clubs. It is the Good Guys Rod & Custom Association and Revell Models that deserve all the credit for sponsoring the Spring Nationals Model Car and Pedal Car Contest every spring and the Southwest Nationals Model Car and Pedal Car Contest every fall, along with ~ of course ~ the very loyal and dedicated team of volunteers who make them happen.
  11. I'm hoping my post will be # 2982. Whoa. That was too easy.
  12. Polyphonic Spree ~ I've seen/heard a lot worse. The two guys ~ Not bad. The pineapple . . . well, I'm surprised a music connoisseur such as yourself, Harry, didn't recognize it . . . it is a . . . Hawaiian Symbol Cymbal! [insert Rim Shot here]
  13. "Ever wondered ... When you are driving down the street or highway and see bolts on the ground. What part of the car or truck were they holding in place?" Nope.
  14. This one look soooo good . . . no matter what stage of completion it's in. Every step of the way, John, every step of the way . . . superb!
  15. FYI, it was actually 2,000 ~ 1,000 Canada and 1,000 USA.
  16. Excellent, Craig!

    Orange Roaster

Striking! Just thinking: A little bit o' dark wash would add a ton of reality to the shiny metal parts ~ alternator, steering shaft, exhaust headers, etc.
  18. What you doin' to run everbody off, Willis? You bathing regular?

    67 Comet

    Nice.
  20. Which kit is that? Did the hood scoop come in the kit, or did you source it somewhere else?
  21. That's hot! I loved the Visible V-8 I built as a pre-teen . . . and I learned a lot about the operation of a car's engine. It's great to see the concept updated, especially since the original VV8 is such a dated design.
  22. WoW! Been too long since I checked in on this build! Looking great, Darren!!!
  23. It's excellent!!
